Demo only has ocollo, which doesn't have stables.

Or at least that's all it seems to have as nobody can get off the island due to boats being buggy on demo.

My pets don't automatically follow me unless i tell them to before i stable them.
If i say all stop and stable a pet...if i claim it i watch as it randomly walks around. There isn't even a problem here.
To be honest that's how I remember it working, with the pet basically just remembering the last command you gave it before stabling it. Granted that's just how I remember it, with no proof to back it up yet

Oh I see then, so you're basically stuck at Ocllo in the demo, which would make doing any kind of taming tests in the demo impossible. You'd think there'd be UO cheats or hacks or something that could be used in the demo to get around easier, maybe I'll install the demo myself and look into it

Batlin is fairly good at dissecting code from it I believe, but I'm not sure this is something that can be done.

This is a lie, or you just do not remember correctly.

I tested this with Derrick a few days ago, and i tested it myself one minute ago. I would take my pets out, say "all stop" "all stay", stable them, claim them, and they would follow me immediately with no follow command given. This allows players to have the follow command with no loyalty check, and should definitely be looked into.

Haven't been on the tamer much so my memory is fading a bit on that.

Well i have in the past on this server said " all drop" it drops it's gold and i stable it. I claim it and it doesn't follow me until i tell it to.

Obviously not.

I use this technique to get my nightmares to follow Deacon.

Stop talking out your ass.

This is the behavior that I belive to be accurate, we won't make a change based on memory though unless it's pretty unanimous.

As valarhu said, this was tested a few days ago and they appeared to always follow regardless of the command. I haven't looked at the code on this as I've had no intention of making a change on this without more info.

Yes, we can probably glean some info from the demo.

To answer the question on why we don't use 2001 emulator code, it's simply because it's way less stable and buggy, and less developed in terms of extensibility, and also doesn't support the latest client. We try to stay up to date with the latest RunUO releases.
