good lord, shut up. no onee wants to read your endless paragraphs of babble. mark asked if we enjoyed pvp and why we selected the answer we did. he did not ask for a middle-aged retard to come and attempt to prove why other peoples opinions are valid or invalid. seriously, get a life man.Faust wrote:I was specifically talking about the mount fatigue code that was stated in numerous of my posts. I don't look at the overall game mechanics related to mount fatigue as one entity as you seem too. This is why I made the statement about how people tend to look at the major core mechanics and disregard the indirect or related mechanics to it. Nothing was being contradicted on my part since it was quite clear that I have been discussing the mount fatigue code and nothing else related to it when it until recently. I never once made the claim of confidence that the parameters for mount stamina was right or accurate sicne I honestly don't know. Mount fatigue isn't one entity and there are many relations associated with it.

Have only fought him once and beat him in about 10 seconds during the duel.
Try again son.

Not looking forward to the "new changes" at all. I think it's a terrible idea, even if it's "accurate" 90% chance that it'll drive me away from playing

Re: Do you enjoy the pvp mechanics of uosecondage?
Why would that be the case?
- Won't be able to script your swings with Razor or EUO.
- Archery will be improved slightly.
- Slow weapons won't be able to cut the timer in half.
- Movement won't restrict the swing timer.
- Spamming low circle spells and swinging, repeating the process over and over won't be possible.

I just won't enjoy it, just how you don't enjoy the "current" pvp mechanics, and refuse to play on them.

Re: Do you enjoy the pvp mechanics of uosecondage?
Would it really be that hard to elaborate on your opinion?
Do you find anything wrong with my list of pros for the new swing timer?
I don't enjoy playing on something that I know is inaccurate. The only thing that drives me to play this shard is accuracy and nothing else. When you know something is inaccurate with conclusive evidence it simply deters me from wanting to play. There are other games that I can play for fun until it's fixed in the mean time.

Re: Do you enjoy the pvp mechanics of uosecondage?
You just recently added those in, so I don't really see why that question was put in? I'm quite sure you are the only person who automates swings, not being able to "cut the timer inhalf" means slower combat, and combat (1v1's) are already slow enough. Group PvP I'm not concerned about, you can win with or without your weapon hits more than half the time.
It's just more of an annoyance than it is "fun". But I guess any change that drives good pvpers away so you can consider yourself on the top is a win patch amirite!?

Re: Do you enjoy the pvp mechanics of uosecondage?
The current swing timer doesn't elapse when your character is moving around. Do you think pvp won't speed up even the slightest when this restriction is removed? I don't think you understand the entire scope of the accurate changes in all honesty. Perhaps, your opinion may change once you take the time to understand and think about it all thoroughly. It really doesn't matter to me in the end though. I was merely curious about your opinion on the matter since it's rather ironic when someone leaves a combat "i won't like it" without elaborating with any reasoning. The new timer will require a greater deal of skill to understand and manipulate than the current timer that simply elapses and waits for you to use it.
Re: Do you enjoy the pvp mechanics of uosecondage?
Why would that speed up the timer, rarely anyone misses the timer because its that simple, pvpers aren't as bad as they were back when you played. Most of the people who are out pvping, know to pause wait for timer than move, so it's rare for them to miss their swing timer unless someone is spamming attack last. Now we're forcing that timer to goto "5 seconds" I believe, for Halberds. Thats nearly 2 seconds longer we have to wait for swings, making it 100 timers easier to heal, as you won't have to worry about things such as "hally swing, ebolt, lightning, hally swing" or things similar to that combo.
I think if you want to make any changes to the shard Faust, or even research them and submit your findings, you should try actually playing the server you're trying to change. Experience the PvP, and please don't say that you have, because it's more than obvious you havn't. Get on the field, interact with players, do tournies for all I care, just PVP before you try and make PVP changes, please.

Re: Do you enjoy the pvp mechanics of uosecondage?
This shard is replicating a period in time in Ultima Online, not trying to alter the pvp to your fitting or anyone else for that matter. Batlin was the person that decompiled the original swing timer code that OSI used. I worked with him on the project after he made his findings public over at JoinUO after going to him to discuss it. That is the only reason that I understand the changes in all honesty. If you think my goal is to change the pvp for some personal or bias reason go right ahead. I know my motive behind this shard and that is all that matters to me, accuracy. I don't care if you enjoy the pvp because it doesn't really matter. The shard is about replicating the t2a era and if someone doesn't like it than they probably chose the wrong server to play on. I very much enjoyed the pvp during the t2a era and that is what matters to me. It doesn't matter how active a person is on the shard. No one opinion is lesser than the other when it comes to researching for it. Kaivan is a staff member that does not play the shard and has done great work with past pvp mechanics. Does that make his changes 'irrelevant' here? No, and that holds true for every other player that has submitted changes in the past including those that no longer play here. Are we going to strip their game mechanics that were researched by them since they don't play? Don't think so buddy.
