heh ya!
I think this is one of the only things with no "deeper meaning" nor relaited in any way to the ultimaUniverse. I guess LB left already when recdu recsu came in.

I hope u guys played U6
u can call U6 the cornerstone of UO !

The thing with the potions, I think its true, Festus is right!

The 1000 damage magic Arrow:
There has been rumors about monsters can shoot spells with a chance of 0,000001 to deal 1000 damage.
( I think gms just killed the poeple and that was a fool excuse )

The Doublehit
The Doubehit mostly happend to Katana and rarly to Hallyswings (don't know about Hallydoublehit)
It was a bug that made u hit 2times once while equip and 1 while unequip.

Noto-PK PK (bluecorpse bug)
There was a pretty long period this worked.
You go grey intown, get involved in some fighting but always survive until the criminal timer was gone. If u got killed after the crim timer was over the corpse turned blue.

The pro use of this was dying just next to a healer.

Blackhole - Timewarp
Recdu Recsu + Alt F4

I know a scam that worked on t2a still that works on runuo. Only very few poeple know about it, prolly never ever get fixed.
(won't tell in forums)
Since I didnt see an answer for this,

1) Magic arrow damage was often due to the graphic for dragons breath not showing up and the dragon casting a magic arrow. I cannot recall ever dying to just a magic arrow.

2) Double hit was the attempted fix for instahit. However, the fix made you wait the swing timer before the weapon would swing

So instead of equip-> insta hit it would be equip-> wait for seconds, hit.

The problem was if you waited till exactly the right time you could wait like 3.9 seconds swing, and then swing again. Used to devastating effect versus a paralyzed person.

3) was due to the buggy flagging system and DID happen. Even better was running around until you turned blue to them but they hadn't tabbed out and getting them guardwhacked/murder counted.

4) blackhole/any alt f4 bugs were due to the switching servers on the OSI servers and as this one server runs the whole shard it cannot happen... aside from graphic crash bugs which can.

There's some insignifant crap i do remember back when i played.Though i have no proof or anything to back up my word. It's nothing biggies.

First thing i do remember that you don't have here. When you was revealed back in the day (when using the skill hiding) . You still remained in *hiding ghostly form* if you was revealed but the revealer would see you.hell i don't even remember the revealing sound.

Also the Journal thing. When i used to open a bag .. In my journal .. For exemple a bag of reagents . I would get in the message *You see 64 mandrake root,70 black Pearl etc .. It's was useful to count all my reangents without clicking them all or for peen screenshot purpose.

GM's did occasionally take over monsters and use them to kill players when they felt like it. Here's one example from an old thread ... (Phroge may have gotten a bit carried away/paranoid at times, but he was correct about most of the things he said in this post. I'm not sure anyone believed him at the time, though.)
---------------------

Snough: Eh, I once had a GM create an uber-dragon to kill Corwin and his guild on Atlantic. Is that prestigious?

Corwin: Dunno about prestigious, but Phroge made your act immortal, thanks to google groups:
My name is Phroge. I am in a guild on Atlantic called Wind Elders(WE). The
purpose(yes, WE has a purpose, unlike many other guilds) is to rid Wind of
the low lifes. The PKers, the looters, the NKs, the thieves, etc. One such
lowlife is called Soulcry AKA Snow. This kid, and yes, he is a kid... a
teenager is all of the bad things in UO. He murders, he NKs, he blade
jumps, he loots, he abuses the mages(and several other bugs). He is one
that our guild has tangled with almost nonstop for a couple months. We have
reported him for his abuses. We have sent in proof of his abuses including
screen caps, journal logs, and ICQ logs where he admits to things that he
has done.

Yet, nothing is ever done about him. Why is that you ask? Very simple.
Soulcry/Snow is a counselor. He is in very tight with GM Datura.
Therefore, what Soulcry can't handle, Datura takes care of. Soulcry has
called Datura in to help against one of our guild members. Datura took the
form of a monster and helped Soulcry attack the guild member. They claim
that they were trying to bust the guildmember for using UOe. The
guildmember does not use UOe. They were simply harassing the guildmember.
Soulcry admitted that it was Datura that was helping. Logs were sent in of
this confession, yet nothing was done.

The other day Soulcry was once again in Wind, up to the same tired crap.(Why
does he say he is bored with Wind yet keep coming back?) I decided to
follow him around for a while to try to catch him in some lowlife act.
After all, the purpose of WE is to protect Wind from such people. I was
doing my role-playing job. Any good law enforcement type will make an
effort to keep an eye on someone that is not above suspicion. So what
happens? After following him around a bit... all the while he is calling me
every name his tiny mind can come up with... I stop moving. I have full
stats... yet I'm getting a message saying "You are frozen and can not move".
You guessed it... the lowlife called his buddy Datura to freeze me for a
couple minutes. Isn't it wonderful that a player can ask such things of a
GM when they are so buddy-buddy? I rather think it sucks. How unfair is
this when a counselor that is not playing their counselor character can get
special attention from a GM?

On top of this, we have seen the drakes and daemons in Wind do amazing
things lately. Things like target and track guildmembers, ignoring other
players that are closer to the monster. Spawns have occurred at times that
are most beneficial to Soulcry and his friends. Never before have there
been more than 2 drakes, 1 dragon, and 1 daemon around at once at the drake
pit in Wind. The other day there were 3 drakes and a dragon. That has not
happened in the 8-10 months I have been a regular at the drake pit. Seems
to me that one of those drakes might have been, once again, a GM. It was
probably the drake that chased guild members around corners, and seemed to
only be able to target WE guildmembers, although there were several other
players around... including Soulcry. What was Soulcry doing there? SOS...
name calling, blade jumping, and looting.

I call for an investigation of not only Soulcry and Datura, but counselor/GM
relations in general. I call for strict monitoring of ALL GM actions due to
the continued favoritism displayed not only on Atlantic, but on the other
shards as well. I call for an investigation into the selection methods for
GMs and counselors. After all.. how is it that a teenager in high school
can obtain such a position of power and authority as that of a counselor?
How is it that a counselor is allowed to continue to abuse the advantages
that has? How is it that a player such as Soulcry, who was well known to
OSI as a house break in bug abuser, could ever be considered as a counselor?
I call for change.

Screen caps, journal logs, and ICQ logs have all been provided to not only
uo support, but to DD as well. Nothing changes. Soulcry continues to abuse
his privileges. Datura continues to help.... and all the while they are
sitting in the Counselor/GM IRC channel laughing at the fun they are having
at the expense of the paying customers. A simple slap on the wrist for
these types is not good enough. Greater action must be taken.

The above happend on Lake Superiour as well. Only most of the time the GM's did the "Black Liche" thing. Happend more than a few times that I can remember. Taking hundreds of people to bring it down, but usually with Item Bless deeds and top teir weapons only (Silver Vanq stuff) ..

Was good times though.

I think Faust needs to stop contributing to the pvp mechanics......look at how bad they are right now. I do appreciate his attempt but he needs to stop defending the current mechanics, they are wrong.

I wonder if the reason why Faust wants the PVP mechanics to suck is so no one can kill him 1v1? Because currently if you want to avoid a fight all you have to do is run and you'll probably get away because it's already hard enough to kill someone in a boxed area. It takes forever and doesn't feel like UO pvp at all.

Has anyone fogotten that UO was known for it's fun and skilled 1v1 mage pvp?

THE UO DEMO IS NOT THAT ACCURATE. Hello people, get your head out of your rear. I strictly remember playing the UO demo for "... and giggles" during 1997/1998 and it was horribly inaccurate compared to that time.

Why don't you try to be a bit less vague and go play with it again and define exactly what's so inaccurate about it.
Doing so you will achieve a whole lot more than with just posting "it is inaccurate".

qtip wrote:There was a discussion not too long about about stealth archers and mages, and how in today's game world we're all a bit more on our toes and its unlikely a stealth template could have the same effect these days..
One of the stealth mages best friends is polymorph. I literally stood toe to toe on a red unaware and unleashed a combo on him. In larger battles its even more deadly if you precast explosion off screen run onscreen target then go for another explosion/e-bolt with a possible pot thrown inbetween. In the chaos the pvper will 9 out of ten times remain unaware it was the beastly that comboed him if he lives. Then you just run off screen cast invisible and stealth away waiting for mana regeneration.

Great fun watching real men instead of the high protein bar munchers today.

If you ever get a copy of "A Sunday in Hell" that's a real laugh. French printers demonstrate at the start line by throwing paper all over and the cyclists have to pedal through it all. At the mid stage the cyclists are blocked so they pick up their bikes and run through peoples gardens.

i don't remember t2a having a KOS social environment out of town

I can hardly communicate with people out of town because 9 out of 10 times they are going to attack before the first word.

I love pvp and a decent pk system but does the anti social game world seem like an issue that makes the game not "the way it was"?

I remember blue pks not wanting to waste kills on newbies training
and red pks getting massive stat loss when they died so only the best (and by best I mean hardest working) could kill everything they saw all day
