the single point for a loss is an incentive for participation even if you know you really wont be able to beat the player
for instance
a player x out there that no one thinks they can beat, will never be able to find an opponent and will not make the playoffs even though he would like to participate
it gives a reason for people a reason to try
if we get as solid a turnout as we have been getting this time around i may make 2 divisions A and B with the higher ranked players going into the first division and lower ranked players int he second. winners of the lowest ranked division will move up to the top division and the lowest of the group A will move down each season, o somthing along these lines

Not down with divisions because the turnout after all isnt amazing. We only have 20ish people in the tourney?

Divide that up and you wont find a fight.

1 point for a loss wouldnt be bad if people would just fight. I would be in 7th-11th place if people would fight as much as me.

up to 24 people now i think and weve had already over 150 matches so its going pretty well i think

There is some interest in adding 2v2 and 3v3 brackets

Is anyone interested? Leave a post we will probably add these brackets at the beginning of next season.

Week 4 the final week begins today
get all you can get in now!

Here is a quick breakdown of how the final results are done prizes playoffs/etc

40k will go to the regular season champion.
Plus a prize.

The top half of the competitors will qualify for an invitation to the playoffs.
If they do not accept the next ranking person by points can take their slot. Qualification for the playoffs is top half of competitors by points. This is a reward for all those who participated the most and also the most skilled.

Entry to the playoffs will cost 5k.

Playoff seeding will be determined on Win percentage. With the number one seed facing the bottom seed. Second place seed facing the second last seed etc.
Playoffs will be best of 7 matches same rules apply as during the season.
Depending on how many people compete in the playoffs we will have the championships of the top 4(subject to change) competitors in a tournament format where all parties must be present. The two finalists who lose their matches will compete for 3rd place in a best of 7.
All playoff contenders will be notified and first round matches must be complete within one week. If they are done sooner we can move on sooner.
If you fail to appear for a playoff match you will be disqualified and your opponent will move on.

Gold prizes will be distributed
Champion - 60% of gold + prize
2nd - 30% - of gold + prize
3rd - 10% of gold + prize

Prizes are displayed currently in museum

Good luck competitors

I need input as to how we shoudl arrange 2v2 matches under this format

Please leave any thoughts so we can get it worked out before season 2 begins.

Questions -

what constitutes a team?

permanent fixed teams? flexible teams?
anythign of this manner please respond and help out. PVPers looking for your input

standard rules? No magics, Yes to pots
what constitutes a team? 2 people playing together against another two people
individual points? I'd agree on this purely because it'd be unfair to people who team with someone who becomes inactive would be out through no fault of their own

permanent fixed teams? flexible teams? Flexible teams imo reason above.
