I would like suggest more pvm events

For ideas on how to make Second Age a better shard. Can it get any better? Maybe.

I would like suggest more pvm events

IN all the time i've been here I can only remember one pvm event and it was when I very first started here. We are not a pvp shard we are a t2a shard. So why then shouldnt there be just as many events for pvm'ers as for pvpers? And shouldnt they give out trophies too? We suffer hardcore as pvmers already as most pvpers seem to believe if your not a top level pvper on this shard you dont even have the right to have an opinion. Dont forget us pvmers are out there!

I'd like to stress something ongoing like a week long event or something. Something where it isn't: "xxx" will be taking place at 9-11pm est Thursday night.

theres 1-3 pvm events a week lasting about an hour+ each pvp tournies last about 20mins per and ctfs/dd is for everyone ;/

I was under the understanding that the current PvM events were player-run (ie dungeon crawls)

What's wrong with player run events? Afaik staff help a little with the spawn.

Nothing is wrong with player run events, I believe the op was aiming at a non-player run event (could be wrong). And again player run events don't have a choice but to be a certain time and place.

1. PVM events that last a week on a set timer like the orc invasions. We don't need gms for this.

2. During these invasions there should be a announcement that the guards have taken refuge in british castle and won't be coming to save anyone. PKs roam the towns without thread of statloss.

3. Instead of a week, make it a month.

4. do this repeatedly with different storylines like the old minax event.

5. No more early morning minority of server base events to avoid lag. We need events that happen for everyone...not just for people who randomly read the Player run event forum. So pick a time of day that represents the actual playerbase . I imagine many of us are asleep at 6:30 to 9:30 am. CST

6. Drop items that force the player base to come together for a common goal and not something people can collect and put in their houses or try to charge 250k for on the trade forums.

7. ALso a little off note. Fix the mare spawn areas as they are not spawning in their areas at all and it's getting silly trying to tame a mare in delucia guard limits.

I disagree.

I'd easily trade my oppurtunity to get a PvP trophy for the dungeon crawl trophy, anyday. 5 Point Dungeon Crawl, 2 Point 2v2 trophy IF you win, dungeon crawl.. you just have to hope it's hard and last till the end and it's a sure given thing.

The PvP trophy.. you have to hope you don't get unlucky, and fight against some really good teams.

You also have the survival event, sure tank mages can pwn it, but you can pwn it harder with a PvM char if played right.

Every other week theres a dungeon crawl, and some kind of invasion where you can get lots of gold/trophies/loot.

Theres 8 pvp tournies a week that give trophies, 2 points to the winner, 1 to the loser, everyone else gets to fuck off and feel like they wasted there time because they lost to a bs reason, or in sudden death, etc.

You don't need GM Assistance to run a PvM event, theres plenty of things you can do, be creative.


Btw, LOL @ no Statloss, would be such a bad idea :(.

I used to love the town invasions, no guards...shenanagins galore. Count me in!
I have the best job: I get to legally deal drugs, electrocute you if I feel the need, and if I'm of a particular mood make fun of what ails you in the "kindest" of ways.

Amazing Escape

Gates open in town-going thru the gate kills you. Re-enter to some geographic location (T2A Light house/Bottom of Hythloth/etc) healer is there to resurrect the contestants. Resurrect in a safe area and all you have are newbie items. Object-Escape/Travel to some destination. Rank order on who gets there first thru third or whatever-no one can make it alone though. You are going to need thieves to steal/lockpick, crafters to make weapons, fighters to take down the spawn, mages to heal, bards and tamers to make it easier (mounts/spawn control). Bottom line is you have to cooperate to survive but in the end folks can start turning/allying against each other to get the edge. It will be a quest with all kinds of puzzles and lots of spawn to fight and there will be much rejoicing.
