Attack last and tabbing

For ideas on how to make Second Age a better shard. Can it get any better? Maybe.

What is being deflected exactly son?

I mean the evidence was thrown right into his face but the kid comes up with some mumbo jumbo that has nothing to do with it... We all know that you could run a tab macro prior to the fix for it. If you think that I ever said you couldn't you are clearly mistaken and shows why nobody read the thread in the first place.

Again, the argument was about a tab throttle... I showed the patch note that listed the throttle additions which only consist of attack, drag/drop, and using an item. There was no tab in that patch note at all. If this patch that was implemented in May added a tab throttle why was there a comment from me a month before this patch explaining how tab works in regard to a throttle that is the same type of throttle that is used in the RunUO default code?

The only deflect was obviously Alatar for being misinformed and ignoring the overall topic in general.

You should be able to tab and attack last once per tick (0.25 seconds), period. Looping tab against someone looping attack last will still make you swing whenever possible.

I would have much rather kept the other topic going but I suppose that isn't possible. There isn't much to discuss on this issue, seems pretty straight forward to me.

EDIT: Forgot to mention, this is all confirmed on the demo, there is literally zero documentation to say otherwise.

Hemperor is suggesting that the standard tab throttle that has existed here from day one to be altered from the way it works now into a strict delay with a value of 0.25s even though this doesn't appear to be true on the demo that it's based on. He has stated that the implemented throttle that exists on the demo is only client side(even though it makes absolutely no sense for a delay like this to be created if it didn't work in the first place) and doesn't actually time out the tabbing process.

The throttle that exists on UOSA does appear to be more restricting compared to the demo though. This has been confirmed through everyone even Derrick himself. However, the suggested delay by Hemperor is a bad ideain my opinion without knowing very well or with any certainty that this is the way it works. I think it's a better idea to know for certain before changing it, because there is a high possibility that you would only be swapping one inaccurate function for another at this point. It is simply best to wait for clarification on the process before jumping to conclusions.

I don't have time to do the 20 page dance with you anymore Faust so I really hope Kaivan jumps in sooner than later. Drop the whole "in since inception" thing, you're the only one that believes it and it's pointless to argue about. Fact is, what we have right now is extremely inaccurate and is not even how the RunUO default functions, you should know this.

EDIT: Also, I posted a video displaying any sort of "lag" when tabbing is only on the clients side, to all other clients the player is tabbing without delay (this lag seems to be only with refreshing, hardly noticeable). One thing that is definite is that you can attack last with no restrictions, other than the tick system of course. 95% sure that tabbing is the same, worth looking into however if attack last has no restrictions then it really doesn't matter how tabbing functions (regardless, confirm this yourself since what we've done counts for nothing apparently)

Did you notice a "few seconds" on the web site?

I noticed earlier on in this thread that Hemperor mentioned that this was "confirmed" to be the case in the demo AND current UO by Kaivan. I also find it strange that the way tab currently functions is exactly the way that it appears on the demo. How these strange coincidences pop up from time to time, eh.

Hemperors "research" and Kaivan's view on the way this game mechanic functions is based on visual interpretation.
