Peacemaking

Post by HardActToFollow »

Questions on how peacemaking works on this shard.

From my understanding, Peacemaking will make everyone in an area "forget" who they were targeting. Does this apply with PvP as well kinda like incogito? I was hoping that Peacemaking would kill the "last target" so PKers would have to manually target me again to make their "dump" macros work.

No, but do not let that disuade you. Peacemaking can be an excelent skill, while no direct PvP uses (with attack last spamming and all) and very little PvM application, I promise you there are great uses for this.

does this cancel out Provoke? So lets say 6 monsters are all attacking each other and I peacemaking, they will all be back to attacking the players again right?

Also, how does peacemaking work with tamers? If I peacemaking, their pets will no longer attack me and the tamer will have to re-issue the command right?

Yes and Yes, both great fun. Keep in mind if the tamer has to keep speaking commands the pets loyalty keeps dropping, and there is hardly time to feed them in combat. Peacemake is all sorts of fun.

well it doesnt cancel out provoke either, so what good does this skill do? I just tried it, I provoked two harpys together and they still were wacking at each other after my peacemaking attempt. Perhaps it does not effect your provokes?

It should cancel out provoke, and erase the monsters last target info. If this does not work then perhaps you could create a bug report on the matter.

Bard temp idea
Enticement
Peacemaking
Musicianship
Hiding
Magery
Resist
Meditation

This is no stand alone character. But I think it can be very useful.

Actually I think I would even drop mediation for stealth and wear heavier armor whilst visible/hidden drop it for stealth...that would be the kicker. A special operations template.

If you were in range they should have attacked you. Peacemake is anti provoker more then it is anti tamer. If it doesnt work this way it is a bug issue and as I am following the temp guidelines that I set above I will be testing this myself. I read numerous things of how provokers would also have peacemake so they would turn all the creatures on those who were looting their kills.
If it does not work in this fashion I will be posting those links soon enough. I know for certain you cannot even target to provoke when you spam peacemake. So when you hear that first chord of reprovoking just spam the quicker peacemaking.
There was a thread awhile back and one bard vs another was the topic. The one Bard thought the other provoked the monsters on him and was miffed because he couldnt flag the bard a murderer when in fact all the bard did was used peacemake.
Peacemaking is to a Provoker what Enticement is to a tamer...

I think Peacemaking was broken in this era and uor. It just simply doesn't work, at best in a rough situation it'll buy you enough time to recall out. If all that is attacking you is mobs.

Or to peace a pvp tamer but all kill is faster than ten second cooldown timer.

It shouldnt be broken I read many posts from that era that speaks of provokers using peacemaking to stop their provocation having said creatures focus on the nearest non-wild monster in the midst of them.

Any follow up on this? Also what is the delay on this skill? I'm at work right now so can't try it.

I tried to unprovoke creatures to no avail, yesterday though I seen a wolf attacking a headless and I was able to peacemake on them.

Whether provoked or not I have no clue.

As you know though I am busy with alot of projects right now to actually play around alot with it experimenting. I intend to though...trust me.

Peacemaking does not currently unprovoke, but it will soon.
