Hello Uo SA and Template advice
Hello Everybody
I am a French Uo player and i played on Europa shard From 2000 to 2007.
I come back in Uo with UOSA and i have only one word : fantastic.
I am really happy with the gameplay.
I plan to create a pirate ( i know , it is very very common) but
i dont really want to go with magery.
I wish to have fun and play a "realistic' char
My first idea is : Sword, archery, tactics, anatomy, healing and fishing.
I imagine i can manage Sea serpent and elemental but what about some other red pirate...?
Any suggestions
Thanks

Re: Hello Uo SA and Template advice
Actually Ive spent ALOT of time Fishing out in deep water and haven't been attacked by pirates yet.
*Knock on wood*
The excitment of Pirates sounds like a nice thought, as long as it doesn't get so out of hand I cant fish anymore.

I'd go with Hiding. You could sail the seas hidden (between commands I guess) and look like a Ghost Ship.

hah, I just don't want to get constantly ganked and become a legitimate ghost ship.

This is my fisherman. He might not be the most common template, but I like it, and I'm still working on it.

Re: Hello Uo SA and Template advice
swordsmanship
archery
tactics
anatomy
healing
fishing
Your selection of skills is good I suggest:
70 hiding/30 magery
70 magic resist/30 magery
I recommend 30 magery so you can recall with a scroll if you need to.

Re: Hello Uo SA and Template advice
I'm not sure what you're asking about when it comes to magic resist? It doesn't matter what offensive magic spell is casted on you because there is only one type of spell damage. Magic resist will reduce the damage taken from any type of offensive spell that causes damage.Morgular wrote:

I recommend 70 hiding and 30 magery more than 70 magic resist and 30 magery.

It is about this (from Resist spell Stratics Faq)
Question - What other benefits does the Resisting Spells skill have?
Answer - Resisting Spells gives you some basic resistances, even when you are not wearing any armor at all. The formula to calculate your basic resistances is (Resist skill - 40) / 3 * 2 rounded down to the nearest whole number. At 100 skill points, this gives you 40 points in all five resistances, at 120 skill points this gives you 44 points in all five resistances. These resistances are not cumulative with armor resistances. If you wear an armor that has 30 in all resistances, and you have 40 points in all resistances because of your Resisting Spells skill, then your final resistances will be 40 (and not 70).

Fencing
Tactics
Anatomy
Healing
Stealing
Snooping 80
Magery 60
resist 60
That sounds like a good pirate temp to me, not a fisherman though, but lets see if we can work on your specifications
Swords
Tacts
Anat
Healing
Archery
Fishing
Lockpicking/ or cartography
would be a good bet...

Re: Hello Uo SA and Template advice
UO Stratics contains a lot of updated information concerning the current expansion, UO: Stygian Abyss. The official UO is still around so UO Stratics is dedicated as a resource for that knowledge.Morgular wrote:

I had a feeling you were referring to fire, cold, poison and energy resist. That didn't exist in the T2A expansion. That came years later in UO: Age of Shadows expansion.
