Skill Cap, Skill Loss, and Skill Gain HELP!

Here is the story made my character in Town before I had a house, so I did not get resist. Now I need it, problems is I can't seem to gain any skill in it.

1. My Skill cap is approx 693 so I am 7 points short of maxing it out

2. I have the following locked at 100; Magery, Meditation, Eval, Mace
Hide is at 56 and locked, Tactics is at 93 not locked

3. I have Anatomy at 100 but set and locked down

4. Resist is set up and is currently like 44.


I had other characters run thru Firewalls and they maxed out Resist at around 55.

This character I run thru firewalls and can't gain anything past the 44 I am stuck at.

How do you get a skill to go down short of setting it to down? Is it harder to lose skill? Is it harder to gain skill closer to stat cap?

Suggestions, Comments...HELP :) !

I don't think firewall takes past the 40's. If it did everyone wouldn't create their characters with 50 resist

I think you're gonna have to use fireball then lightning.

I don't know why you are having a problem, just a couple days ago I firefielded myself from 50 to 55 resist (where it appears to cap).

Took me like 10 minutes, tops.

(lightning seemed to cap at 65 resist)

I went from 20 to 55 resist with much ease with firefield

Try e-bolt until 65 then FS until about 91. Then if you can, meteor swarm until GM with other people to cut costs. Offer to help out with supplying regs and bandages. Many will be more then happy to do this with you as there are alot of people that need skill gain in resist/magery/healing. You must cast outside of town obviously as magic is practically nullified within.
Also make sure all skill arrows are pointing down in uneeded/unwanted skills. What remaining points are set up in shown affects real point distribution.
