Hues won't be retroactively changed.
There are some jwilsons out there, just not many :(
I will be making some corrections to hues based on the info presented here sooner than expected. We only had three of the four mare hues.

Can't wait to find a jwilson!

I used to read Computer Gaming World back in the day, and didn't buy the first release of UO based on their review. When I did buy The Second Age, I thought the jwilson slime was absolutely hilarious.

Long ago, the Good/Evil patch was put in, though it is my understanding that it was truly never implemented on production shards
Why exactly are these animals getting put into this shard? I don't see how this is at all era accurate... and bear in mind, this is coming from someone who is working on a tamer that's named after a novel character who traveled around with a pack of silver wolves...

Actually, while I'm sort of on this topic... supposedly there's a stable limit of 7 pets at GM Taming/Lore/Vet?! Any reason for this? I believe stabling was unlimited during T2A, and while I can see the need to cap it for bandwith purposes, 7 seems awfully low. I'd love to be able to stable 8-10 wolves to hunt with, as well as a few dragons, and a chicken that I try to train up to 125/125/GM.

Stables are unlimited per individual, but retain a cap for overall stabled pets.

Stables are completely accurate right now besides one part of the way they function. The stables should stable pets "virtually" with in the stablemaster instead of the stable itself.

Ancient Wyrms were also tameable very briefly. One member of LOA on Atlantic had one and brought it out to fight every now and then :)

Edit:

It is mentioned here:

http://www.markeedragon.com/items/index ... emID=27444

Azaroth was the name of the tamer, he was in a guild called LOA when he first had the wyrm, before joining or creating United Tamers of Brittania.

OK cool, thanks a lot. I've got to keep better track of the timestamps on these old posts I'm reading.

i thought that they where a mistake and got deleted shortly after their introduction.!?

The steeds were an accident, and were never meant to spawn. As a result, they were nearly wiped out by gms and stables used to delete them. Silver and dark steeds are approximately the same strength as today's nightmares. Though many players have expressed their desire to have them put back into the game, many OSI officials (including Tyrant) have stated a firm "no". They only exist on older shards that accidentally spawned the steeds and players who tamed them cleverly logged out on them to protect from stables/gm deleting them. These creatures are now considered "illegal items" and players who are caught owning them are jeopardizing their account.

Also see. From http://www.uo.com/cgi-bin/newstools.pl?Article=6097 it dated may 2002 though.

Unacceptable Bug- or Exploit-created Items May 3 2002 5:09PM
In the long history of Ultima Online, there have been certain items that have entered the game due to bugs or exploits. We have been hesitant to post a list of such items, for some unscrupulous players might see such a list and attempt to recreate such illegal items. However, to help players discern the differences between these illegal exploit/bug items and legal rare items, we now feel that there are certain exploit-based items that can be listed publicly.

The illegal items listed below were created or obtained through the use of an exploit or bug, and are not able to be obtained or acquired through any legitimate means. Players who are found to have, use, trade, or sell them may have action taken against their account.

These listed items continue to exist in the world even though they are not re-creatable, but please do not consider them the only items that are unacceptable within UO. Just because an item may not be on this list does not necessarily mean it is legal. We reserve the right to change & update this list at any time.
Portable ballot boxes
Portable forges
Belt pouches
Metal ranger armor (ranger armor should be leather-based, not metal)
Faction-purple non-dyeable items (please note that some items in the game, such as cloaks or fancy shirts, may legitimately be dyed a color similar to the faction-purple color. This listing specifically refers to those items that should never be purple, such as spellbooks, armor, weapons, etc.)
Water tiles
Silver steeds (except for Siege Perilous, Mugen, and Baekdu)
Tame ancient wyrms
It is critical for all players to understand the following information about this list of exploit-created items:

There may be exploit-created items within the world that are not on this list-but just because items are not on this list, does not necessarily mean they are legal.
We reserve the right to change this list at any time.
This list will only note items that were created with bugs or exploit that can no longer be created.
Please also note that we continue to look extremely unfavorably against any player who attempts to use a bug or exploit in order to create an item that should not normally exist within the game, and players who violate the rules of UO at any time may have action taken against their UO game accounts.

Adding them in doesn't always mean making them spawn.
The existance of these creatures, legit or not means that they were in the OSI code. They are now in our code as well.

The OP also mentioned silver serpent animations. I have seen the large ones, but not the small ones. Weren't silver serpents originally the smaller animation? Also,I'm at work right now, does that link give any credit to them actually being tameable?

From Derrick:
I won't comment on what's here and what's not, but they all Will be here for sure after the big creature patch that's been up and coming for the last few months. I wam working of it but it's a lot of files.

Thanks much for the pic btw, some of the hues are currently off I belive.
So, are we still going to see Silver/Dark steeds? I know some people have advocated that they shouldn't be here because they were a mistake, but yet we have the "all follow me" refresh bug that was obviously a mistake...so shouldn't these be allowed, also? Its not like it would unbalance any game mechanics on the server anyways.

i owned a water tile and a portable forge on chessy. i dont remember seeing any silver or dark steeds there tho. sounds like these were pretty rare though.
