Macroing resources NEEDS to be illegal.

AFK or not, the only way you should be allowed to use razor for macroing resources is if the macroing client is ON SCREEN and you are watching your character.

Point in case:
<Vlastslav-TG> since the time i started talking, ive alread make 1500 ore
<Vlastslav-TG> what was that like 25 minutes

This is one of the reasons why the economy is weak, and everyone and their mother has a crafting mule.

It's also not fair that people who have uber macros can become rich with little to no effort while those who don't know how to make the macros are left in the dark. I'm not complaining on my behalf, I don't need gold or resources.

Proposal:
All resource macroing MUST be 100% attended. If you are reported as being unattended, a GM can pop in, and say:
GM: Hey there, just checking a report, how are you?
Illegal macro guy: *keeps mining*
GM: Hola???
Illegal macro guy: *keeps mining*
GM: Ni Hao????
Illegal macro guy: *keeps mining*
GM: Ahoj? (that's for our Czech friend Vlastlav)
Illegal macro guy: *keeps mining*

At this point the GM jails the macro guy.

The only argument against this is that it might be a lot of trouble for the staff to keep up on this. However, It's up to the players to detect the illegal macroers to cut back on false reports. Also, after a few idiots get banned, i'm sure it will slow down a lot.

I think the issue is more having to do with it being 100% legal to macro on 3+ clients at any given time. If you refer to my original post in the other topic, I reported someone who openly admitted in vent that they were resource gathering on 2 clients while playing in an event on another, Derrick said it was legal.

If your client isn't in focus, you should be considered AFK. Not youtube watching with your 3rd monitor nerd display in the corner running your miners.

Wouldn't doubt that our topics get merged, if anyone who hasn't participated in the original poll the topic is called "The Definition of AFK Resource Gathering", however after so many votes and months and no reply from staff, it is slightly discouraging.

the funny thing about this thread, is that if you read the replies and see who doesn't agree, you'll find out quickly who the multiple client/unwatched resource macroers are.

I believe afk resource macroing and unattended resource macroing are the same thing and are illegal here. However if i am macroing and can respond to a gm when spoken to then I think that is ok. I do know they enforce unattended resource macroing here however you are correct that we players have to report the macroers in many cases.

Wrong. People can macro while watching a movie, or walk to another room to eat dinner.

Currently, if you are reported, a gm will check up on you, if you appear to be AFK for an EXTENDED period of time, that is when you get in trouble.

This "extended" period of time should be reduced to about 5 seconds.

The only argument versus this is that is isn't era accurate.

Neither was AFK resource gathering on one client or more. This would actually be a change for accuracy, rules wise, 3rd party programs have adapted over the last 11 years, Fwerp's post is a prime example of how to counter that.

ROFLSAUCE history does repeat itself huh, everytime I say anything in irc about my macros a thread gets posted. Last time I said I had 300k ingots for sale hemp went off on a super thread which went nowhere.

Here are some quick facts...
I have not ran my macros in over 2 months and the ingot price is still 5-6gp.
I never had 300k ingots or 250k or anything, im usually always in the negatives trying to fill orders.
I offered my macros for sale to the entirety of this shard for 250k, everyone laughed and noone bought it.
I do not run 3 clients gathering.
I watch my macroers at all times and welcome GMs to check on me (they have before and ive been there everytime).
Hemp is a crybaby.

You've already convicted yourself in the other thread. Offering your macro as a response clearly means you've missed the point. Anyone can macro resources on 3+ clients and this shard would surely because another wasteland (which IMO shard economy is on that path now with these rules in place)

Why should anyone be able to buy a AFK macro for resources to begin with, and if you weren't gathering as many ingots as you're actually DENYING now then why even put it up for sale for 250k?
