Crafter friendly?

Post by qtip »

Hey! I'm a long time UO player. I like the crafting and pvm side of uo; but I enjoy that danger of knowing others want my life and my ingots :P. PvP was always something I engaged in only if provoked. I often found myself forming alliances with Pks who would frequent my spots. Either trading goods or paying up in return for my life. Anyways... I realize that the server is small. To me this could be good or bad as someone looking to make a living/interact through the player economy. So is this server right for me? So far everyone I've seen was just macroing

We could always use more shops/vendors. I see plenty of dexxies runnin around wearing GM colored/normal armor so i'm sure they'd eat it up. I haven't seen any GM made heavy xbows yet so a bowyer would be nice as well. Either way, if you run a good shop i'm sure you'll make some gold & enjoy it

There doesn't seem to be any demand at all for leather or studded armor, so tailors, I suspect, are not so great.

Sounds good. I'm giving the place a try; just mining/LJ so far.

I wasn't planning on making a tailor first anyway. Bow fletching doesnt sound bad, having a niche is always good. Any other advice? I'm sure there are mules out there already, but what else seems to be in good demand? If I stay long I'll want to keep my crafter occupied. Maybe even make another duelist haha.

weapons and armor is always in demand. I tihnk those are the things that people lose the most. Best part about uo is you can actually lose stuff so there is always a demand for any goods.

Imo the old style craft menus, while accurate, are anything but crafter friendly, in fact, they are crafter annoying  and hence, why I abandoned my crafter.

It is our hope that each player will not have their own crafters so that there is a real market for GM made goods.

Thanks

Skill gain is slow... but the nostalgia is still strong again. So far the menus aren't bothering me. I played another free shard years ago and I remember Razor.

Welcome to the shard!

Probably the most popular shopping area is the strip mall N of Vesper. That may not be a bad place to set up a vendor at.
