Item ID
So I GMed a character's Item ID a while back before leaving. Saved me lots of money on ID wands. However, since returning I notice that if I use item ID the item is only Identified to me. EVen my other characters don't know what properties the magic items have. Does this persist through vendors?
ie: if I used the Item ID skill on a magic axe of power, would that axe display the power suffix, or would it read "a magic axe" on the vendor?

Re: Item ID
It would just day a magic axe. Ppl would have to take your word that it's an axe of power.

Re: Item ID
Also, remember to ID stuff before you sell it to an NPC, and sell it on the char that IDd the item to get the full price.
As for people having to trust you when selling items on a vendor, if they don't trust you they can always just ID the item themselves before purchasing.

Re: Item ID
There are actually 3 things you can do to maximise profits from npcs.
Item id the item.
Have the character join the npc's guild
Have a high amount of fame/karma
Those three things will yield you a higher price when selling wares to an npc.

Re: Item ID
Would joining the merchant guild yield a higher profit with all of the different merchants? That is if the merchant guild exists at all... I know there is a merchant guildmaster... ;)MatronDeWinter wrote:Have the character join the npc's guild
Re: Item ID
I'd be curious the Merchant Guildmaster as well. I'm going to find one and try it.
Despite this character being GM Item ID and cooking, I hate to think of them as my item seller. He can cook your cake and poison it too! He is worth something!

Re: Item ID
My Item ID char is my seller. I have special runebooks on that character for whatever needs to be sold.

Re: Item ID
If I go little bit off-topic... What's the advantage if you join NPC guild? For example fighters guild, or that merchants guild..
