Oh, I know this is used a lot.... so much that we just assume people did something to become criminal and spaced about it. But when I tell you there is NO WAY I had committed a criminal act before recalling into town, you can believe me.
#1 - was PvMing in a locale where I hadn't seen a single other living soul
#2 - when I realized the banker was calling me a criminal, the timer was at 45 seconds. aside from the compelling fact that the last blade spirit I'd cast disappeared while chopping up an ophidian avenger and I was watching it the whole time, my last Blade Spirit was also gone WELL before that timer could have started. after it disappeared, I provoked another monster on the avenger, waited for the fight to end, finished it off with an ebolt, looted three corpses, cast strength, and had to run a good distance and cast healing spells to get to a recall spot.
#3 - So WHAT THE HELL?
I lost an hour's worth of treasure and my reagent bag because of this flub-up and take it from me, that's no fun. I can't believe I'm the only person this has ever happened to though, so if there's some era-accurate whacked out bug I'm not aware of, please share.
If not, then there's really something that needs looking into.

It sounds like a blade spirit wandered off from you, and attacked a blue person/pet/npc exactly 45 seconds before you noticed the banker yapping.

Perhaps a beneficial spell accidentally got directed at a creature of some sort on the way to the recall spot?EVeee wrote:I provoked another monster on the avenger, waited for the fight to end, finished it off with an ebolt, looted three corpses, cast strength, and had to run a good distance and cast healing spells to get to a recall spot.

did u get guard whacked or killed by a player? if guard whacked, it means a blade spirit attacked something blue after u left.

Player-killed, not guard whacked. Which makes me think that the beneficial-spell-on-monster conjecture happened, although I don't know how. Even though I don't remember anything "off" happening, I must have missed something somwhere along those lines. It's the only thing that makes sense.

This has happened to me a few times, though I haven't been killed because of it yet. I'm beginning to think that I may be accidently healing a monster but I usually notice if I've done that.
Re: Criminal in town for no apparent reason whatsoever
if you have a last target macro, u may have accidently hit it before a heal

Well last night I figured out what I was doing at least. I was curing the target of my EV poison so I could get the kill. Not a heal but still a beneficial spell
