Pardon my ignorance, but what exactly does this mean? Previously placed houses won't benefit from the changes?

They will benefit.
Re: Patch 38 - June 15,2008 (Housing changes)
Okay, hmm... was asking because I just checked my houses, and my lockdowns/secures were still the same. Derrick's post indicated the changes would be active this morning so I figured maybe existing houses weren't being changed.
Re: Patch 38 - June 15,2008 (Housing changes)
Hmm, It should have effected all houses. It may not have just updated the housing gumps, I'll double check.

Re: Patch 38 - June 15,2008 (Housing changes)
Existing houses will not change, we'll be happy to change them for you manually. It's only automatic for newly placed houses

Ahh I was wondering what was goin on - the list says 2storys get 5 secures, instead what I have now in mine 4.. but it's grandfathered in so I have to page to get it fixed to 5?
Makes sense though, to have one more secure then patio/large brick because it cost bout 40k more.

Aye, page to have it changed. Secures increase and lockdowns decrease. Many have opted for the old rules with more lockdowns.Kylock wrote:"Existing houses will not change, we'll be happy to change them for you manually. It's only automatic for newly placed houses"
