When is a good time to grind monsters in Shame, or...

Post by Foxhound3857 »

...any dungeon for gold, gems, etc?

When is a good time to go to Shame where I can safely hunt earth or air elementals in peace without a high risk of a red coming through looking for some poor blue to PK? Or any dungeon other than destard, for that matter?

Skill gains are better in dungeons, so I want to train my archery, tactics, healing and resists in one, preferably Shame for air elementals or Covetous for liches. But I need to know when it's actually safe to go to one of these dungeons, when the risk of a PK coming through is low or nonexistant.

Hard to say.. anytime you feel like it, I suppose, would be the best time.

BUT any time that is posted in here for all to see, I would not go.

Yeah, I guess. I just don't want to be consistently threatened by other players while I'm trying to raise skills and save up enough gold for equipment and a boat. I want to find a safe hour to go and grind/farm when the odds of running into a PK are low, and I don't have to hover my finger constantly over the Hiding/Recall macros out of paranoia.

Skill gain is not better in dungeons on this server, there are tons of outdoor spawns that are less frequented by PKs. Even so you should always be ready to get out of dodge!

Do PK's regularly visit the local dungeons that often, just passing through every 10 minutes looking for some blues to kill? Are the dungeons that unsafe?

Look up Brady Quinn on myuosa and then get back to me. Yes dungeons are visited by PKs quite often. Take Vinitrex advice and roam the Forrest(s) to gain skill. A LOT less traffic

If it's just for skill gain, outdoor spawns are your best bet. There are also a few smalls that you can get on the roof and practice archery. Pm fagabeefe for more info on that.
Also...graveyards. Every single graveyard save maybe Britians...is pretty much deserted 23 and a half hours a day atleast. Gates offer protection. Mobs give some gold. Some are literally 10 seconds or less from town guards.

Didn't you used to play here? Like...When there were 100 different pks Rollin around a day and not the 10-20 we have here currently? That said, glad your back. :)

Jhelom and Yew graveyards are exceptionally good. Moonglow is as well.

Yeah, it has been a while and I never finished my archer, now I'm back to complete my mission.

So dungeons are never safe? If I go to one, there's never going to be a time where I won't see a red rolling through every 10-20 minutes? Why are they frequented so often by PK's?

I guess I'll try Vesper or Moonglow GY. The odd sea serpent I pull up from MiB's won't be enough.

There will be 10 to 20 minutes of safety. There will not be a specific time that you're guaranteed that. Try Ogre Lord room for an archer. It's a bitch to pk there because it's so easy to recall. Shame lvl 2 is alright too as long as you hang out in that middle aisleway and can see allnames coming

Also, a lot of pks will ghost or scout an area with a tracker in order to be successful. I don't see a lot of farmers doing the same. If you have a client free, throw a ghost on the bridge of shame 2, or in the hallway by covetous liches, or the entrance to wrong ogre lords, etc.
Save yourself the shame and embarrassment and just assume that if you can't understand me...you're the one who's retarded.

Is there some sort of guide to raising resisting spells after 55, as far as what monsters to hunt? I was planning on doing Resisting Spells to 55 via Fire Wall scrolls (also to help raise healing), but after that, I'm not sure what monsters I should fight. I don't know if I can get decent (or at least consistent) gains from Air/Water Elementals, Liches, or Sea Serpents.

I was thinking about hunting Blood Elementals, but I heard that they're EXTREMELY tough for archers or dexers, somethinf about them having a ton of HP and having poisonous melee?

Being the most consistent PK for over a year, I'd say just recall on sight of a red and you'll be fine

Cool, I guess I'll try Dragons in Destard during peak hours. Should be pretty clear.

Dragons suck for resist. You can try red mages like the ones in Despise, but the best way is to just train a mage up and have him cast on hinself or another toon.
