Coastal house placement

Post by Seeth »

Can anyone explain why this 2 story won't fit? I tried placing a small there in different configurations to test it out, and it looks like the coast side is the issue. Seems like when placing near the coast, 1 tile east and west is ok, but on the north side of the house you need 2 tiles free? Is the ground there uneven and it's just hard to tell? Just about pulled my hair out trying to make it fit! Pics below of with/without placement image and the spot without TH. Thanks for any advice.

Nothing I can see would require grandfathering unless the patch was a bit more involved than what was said.

Seeth: Assuming you're using razor, type "-where" and it will show you the x,y,z of wherever you're standing. Which can be handy when it's hard to tell where a hill is.

Interesting. I didn't know of that command. The entire footprint of the house would rest on x,y,0. A couple of tiles right against the coast are not at 0, but not within the footprint. I was under the impression with the recent patch, this shouldn't be an issue. Oh well.

Recent patch was pulled last I knew, and hasn't been reinstated as yet.

I can assure you that several people are trying to fit a 2-storey in that space right about now, to "help" you.

At this point I wouldn't even be mad just to see how one would fit.

Only thing i can come up with is if you are playing in windowed mode, that you dont have it in the left North corner.

Yea I made sure that wasn't the problem. I ended up tossing a couple smalls down and admitting defeat. If they re-do the house patch, I'll try again. Thanks for the advice folks.
