Question about Dex and Blacksmithing

I have a char that I intend to GM Blacksmith. Currently the character has only 44 dex. Is there any advantage in raising the dex as it relates to Blacksmithy gains/success rates? Thanks.

No. My smith had 25 locked dex. Worked just fine.
Yeah, I'm still in DCT... So's yer sister !
