That's the era I miss the most just because it was my first experience and I was just so blown away by uo in general.Pac wrote:Makes me want to play on a vanilla shard... Dread Lords... ah..

No game will ever compare to that first year of uo.

I do miss the old character creation screen. It screamed Ultima (very true to the series). The current one just looks like a typical registration/creation page with a few visuals.

Yea what they said. Totally gave me a boner I still remember the first time on my own account. Sounds are so crazy in evoking old memories. The chest, moving of pages, and of course the corpses.
Re: Make an Era Accurate Commercial :P
Reminds me of spending my first Ultima hours running around Yew as a ghost.
I had attacked a deer.
I lost.

Re: Make an Era Accurate Commercial :P
My first death was due to attacking a boar somewhere in the bloody plains. After dying and getting ressed by a healer, I happened upon a corpse with a colored cape and was so excited I wore it all the way back to Vesper. I later learned you could dye clothing, making my find less awesome.Ali wrote:Reminds me of spending my first Ultima hours running around Yew as a ghost.

Re: Make an Era Accurate Commercial :P
My first was on the road east of Brit. PK's surrounded me with walls of stone. I was outraged because I'd managed to, like, kill a chicken for some feathers, and they dry-looted me.
Re: Make an Era Accurate Commercial :P
For me it was a Dire Wolf. I was about 11 years old, alone and confused because I couldn't figure out how to res until accidently running into a Wandering Healer.
