I have a question about the reputation function:

How come I can give some people on a thread +/- but not others? At first I though this was due to the person being the author, but that isn't the case. I am just trying to understand how that works, because I wanted to give someone a +1 on something but didn't have the option, and it was just for them that I couldn't.

I believe one reason is, if you add someone to your forum's friend list, it won't allow you to +1 that friend any longer.

Some forums like "Other", "Trash Talk", and "Patch Notes" don't use the rep system. I think those are the only three that don't use it.
