Have you checked the actual computer? Like the Ethernet/Internet card?

Verizon either has to be dropping at times then if both computers are doing it. Verizon's full of shit if they are saying nothin is wrong. Call back n tell them to send a tech out and actually do their job. I worked for Verizon years ago, they are the laziest fucks and don't give two shots about their customers

If they tested the line and that is fine, and you still have the issue both wired and wireless, then quite likely it's the modem/router. Not terribly unusual for new ones to be defective.

I'd suggest bugging the crap out of them until they swap it. Make sure you also swap the power adapter with it -- defective ones can cause periodic drops. Until then, you might try forcing it to reset (pull power for a min) and see if it improves for a while when it does flake out.

I saw you complaining about disconnecting from UO, but your IRC client remained connected.

Are you disconnecting from IRC every time you drop from in game?

Or is it just just in game that is disconnecting?

Either way - buy a new router, they aren't too expensive.

When you drop connection randomly you can also try doing a trace route:

Open a Command Prompt
type tracert www.google.com (or target the ip of whatever resource is dropping)
hit enter

It could be that one of the routers in your path is misconfigured, if you see any time outs you can copy and paste the results of the trace to a doc of any kind and then send it off to your ISP. I also recommend grabbing a trace route to the same resource when everything is working just to compare what a good trace and a bad trace look like. Provide both logs to your customer support so they can pinpoint the problematic router.

Not sure if it will do any good, but at least you can rule out the problem being somewhere in your home.

Buy a new router? This guy has to wait for peanut butter to go on sale before he can eat.
