Kids...
Kids...
In 1998 my youngest son was born, my oldest in 1995, and I'd been playing UO for just a few short months...my gf & I played till '03 or so...
Being the hardass gamers they are it ain't easy to find a game they can't beat in a matter of days...we burned through WoW and lost interest within a year, back in '08.
My youngest says "this game is HARD dad!" hehehehe [they like to do things their own way and won't listen to me about character development...but there ain't no instant gratification in UO ]
We finally got to take them both out on a hunt the other night and what a blast we all had! Quite an experience to take your kids out hunting in a game I last played when they were just little kids!! Nice long trip covering a big section of the map ending in a big battle with a large spawn of orcs 'n stuff...and noone died
Priceless line of the night..."I was wondering what kinda loot an Ettin had"
Now they're asking me for training macros hahahaha
Thanks to the staff...you're making memories

Re: Kids...
That's great! Glad to see parents and kids enjoying UO together.
I've been slowly showing my son how to play little at a time (no PVP since I'm HORRIBLE at it), but he and his friends are BIG into Minecraft at this time. Same with my daughter too.
Maybe at some point I will go out monster hunting with my son. Should be fun!

Re: Kids...
I hope to get my niece to play someday. Right now she's stuck to pokemon and monster trainer crap. She won't touch anything else.

I haven't played UO on the computer with my kids yet. So far we just stick to the board game version of UO.

Re: Kids...
If my kid was to get into playing UO with me, it would be a dream and my worst nightmare rolled into one.
It would be great for bonding and then sad as my child would be doomed to be a fat, acne covered virgin, who never sees sunlight..

This is great to hear.
Perhaps UO shall live on forever even after all of us are dead and gone, a legacy undying.
Hope your family enjoys man!

I haven't introduced the kids to UO for the same reason I haven't introduced them to crack, vodka and whores.
Because it's expensive.
No wait. Because it's addictive and will expose them to evil people.

It IS getting rather cramped down here in my mom's basement [I have 4 kids and the gf doesn't live here..she has her own parent's basement] but I'll have the little ones out on the corner hooking for UO subscription money soon!! [money's been tight since Mom started charging rent...]

Re: Kids...
I wish my fiance/babys mom played UO. I get yelled at constantly if I play longer then like 1.5 hours. No wonder I have no gold!
Seriously though, shes so against playing, I wish shed just give it a try.
