When training lockpicking, is one gm chest enough to get to 95? Some websites say you need hundreds of chests...

how much do lockpicks cost from player vendors?

I know a gm tinkering skill with some carpentry can craft a chest that is needed. So there is no way to tell whether the vendor is selling you the right chest?

1.) A single chest will take you all the way to 95 real skill assuming your dex is pretty low. Otherwise you might top out around 94.7 or so.

2.) Lockpicks can be had for 5-6 gold per. Sometimes people sell them for 5 because they just macroed tinkering and they have a bunch of lockpicks they want to get rid of.

3.) I am not sure about how to tell if a chest is truly made by a gm tinker, but I have yet to read of anyone scamming by selling non-gm tinkered chests. They don't sell for much and it wouldn't be a very rewarding scam.
