Meditation bug or inaccuracy with regen rate?

Post by Halbu »

I was testing meditation today and noticed that whenever used it takes about 2 tics for the meditation regen bonus to actually start working. Until 2 tics, it uses the passive regen which is so slow.

In order to see what I mean, bring up your status bar and lower your mana a bit, then use meditation and carefully watch how long it actually takes for the mana to start gaining faster. It looks like there is a delay.

I believe mana is supposed to start raising faster as soon as the meditation skill is used, no other skill in the game is like this.

Is this intended or inaccurate? A possible bug?

Thanks and looking forward to feedback.

Can anyone comment on this? Test it out for yourself if you don't believe me.

Yea it does not kick in right away. It takes about 1 - 2 mana points before med starts raising faster.

This looks like it equates to 4 ticks (1 second) for the meditation skill to take effect after use.

Would be nice to know if this is accurate or not, it's a minor thing that makes a difference.

You will need to try and speak with Derrick about this if you would like a definitive answer. As of now, my suspicion is that it takes between 0.5 and 0.75 seconds for the effects of meditation to be felt. Up to one tick to determine whether you succeeded or not at meditation, and two more ticks before your first point of mana from meditation is regained (2 mana per second).
