NPC vendor guilds

Does anyone else remember those? You could pick a certain merchant's guild to join and they'd offer you slightly lower prices on their wares. I have only vague memories of it, except that it definitely existed at some point. Most people picked the mages guild, for cheaper regs. You could walk up and say "I wish to join" or something like that. They maybe charged a minimal fee to join. Think you could only be in 1 at a time.

Are they out of era or something? Would be kinda cool to have here.

The guilds exist and you should get discounts, you have to talk the the guildmasters to join, not the vendors

Hmm... I definitely know to talk to the GMs... maybe I'm saying the wrong thing?
