Post by Malheki »

30/30 50/50 and 70/70? also how many lock picks should it take to get to where it stops gaining (which i think is 94 or 95)?

Hate to nit-pick, but only the Tinker skill matters as far as LP gains are concerned. Carpentry skill determines chance to craft the container, Tinkering skill determines the difficulty of the lock mechanism. A GM Tinkered / 0 Carpentry crafted small crate is just as effective for LP gains as one crafted by a GM Carpenter.

Hate to see someone, esp a new player, waste resources raising Carpentry for this when it isn't required.

My question was not implying tinkering or carpentry :P.

What i ment is that i have been seeing different labled boxes the norm is 30/30 50/50 and i thought 70/70, just wanted to make sure i wasen't getting scammed on my purchase.

I just finished macroing lockpicking last night. My dex was already at 25 so locking it at 10 wasn't an option. i stopped gaining off the 50/50 box once my shown skill hit 75. My real skill was 73. something. I switched to a 75/75 box and started gaining again. I switched to the GM box once my real skill hit 75, and macroed all the way to 95 from there. IDK if this the most efficient way to gain but it worked well enough for me.

Because gaining off carp chests is based on shown lp, not base.

That .6 or w/e you can gain macroing at home versus the many days it will take you to get on the field will be worth the planning.
