Can someone be a fulltime Blacksmith and make good $ here?

Post by Malheki »

Im thinking about taking a break from using my Tamer for all my profit and wanted to get back to working up my crafter is there a market for it here or do people typically just use their own Blacksmith?

there's a zero percent chance a blacksmith is going to out profit a tamer.

I don't think you will make anything near as much as you would with your tamer, but I think as a GM Blacksmith you could make a decent income. Especially if you have a nice vendor location.

Location is very important. You must also keep your vendor well stocked. I run 3 vendors right next to the Yew gate. I have 1 with regular GM weapons, 1 with deadly poisoned GM weapons (singles and 5 packs), and one with Armor sets. I restock 2-3 times a week. I don't make tons of money but i do turn a profit.

Tamers make much much more profit. Even with great locations, the competition is but throat. Vendors often end up undercutting each other to get sales which is one of the main reasons I closed my shop down. I was getting to the point where I made no profit at all and for the amount of product I was moving, it was exhausting because I had to restock at least once a day to keep up.
