[Era Accuracy] One-Step forward at log-in

Post by Creager »

During T2A, I remember my characters would always take one step forward when I logged in. Anyone else recollect this?

This could go either way for accuracy. I always thought this feature was neat. It reminds me of pre:uor a lot.

You will no longer automatically take a step forward after logging onto a shard.

yeah, it was always neat being able to tell when your friends logged in. Their char would pop up, and take a step forward, hehe.

Sept 99 was closing in on the end of t2a, I think this could be a good change for the 'feel' of accuracy.

I guess you could log out facing a wall to prevent this?

I honestly have no recollection of this at all. I played from Nov '98 to April 2000.
I belive it, I just don't remember it

I dont remember this either, but maybe u just didnt notice cause it really didnt affect anything. When i played in 98-99 i was on 56k so i prolly just thoguht it was due to lag or something, and never cared to look into it.

It wasnt exactly a step forward. When you logged in the character would make the motion of taking a step but he wouldnt actually step forward. Im not sure if the character does this on this shard or not.

This is what I remember, kinda like when you see someone on a mount tabbing (you see them walking in place)

You're wrong about this Dread. There were many times when I would lose connection at the lich lord room on the ledge. When you would log on your character would fall down into the pit. It was also always possible to see a hidden person log on. When they would they would always move one step forward and unhide themselves.
