Is there a reason why almost everyone is a Thief?

Post by Foxhound3857 »

I swear, I can't carry anything while walking around Britain or the Graveyard. 95% of the people I run into are thieves just waiting to plunder my bags.

What gives. Why in the hell are there such an overwhelming number of thieves compared to bards/crafters/dexers/mages...hell, compared to ANYBODY playing the game. Why are they out in such huge numbers?

There's ways to avoid it. Just don't go to Brit. There are plenty of other cities to go to.

Mostly because more than any other class you 1. AFK to 7x practically in town and 2. It's almost free to 7x.

Hell if you're a bum you don't even need Magery to have fun. Afk a few days and you are off having fun.

What's crazy is you're seeing a TINY portion even. Thieves in town is something to whip out when you're bored. If everyone on the shard brought out their thieves at once everyone would be a theif

You have, I think, a skewed view of things due to the presence of the bank thief guild that, as far as I can tell, camps WBB 24/7. Avoid Britain and its banks, and you will find few thieves.

To give the guards Karma and Fame :|
The box is closed the box is open the gate dispelled on one side
You sealed and only one way through
A tricky trap door, the quantum physics of magic where thieves are stunned by intricate lock

That's how it works.

A skilled thief travels far and wide for fresh targets. This includes
-all banks
-all t-hunting hot spots
-all dungeons
-all money making hot spots

Most of the thieves you notice are scrubs. But to be honest, being a thief really isn't about the quality of the merchandise you happen to steal. Its the thrill of the hunt. (except house burglary, thats about 50/50--thrill of hunt/quality of merchandise)

Playing a thief is really fun if played at a skill level above wbb camping.

If a thiefs outfit is a death robe, theres a 99% chance they're a horrible thief being played by someone bored

I would say: small crate + GM tinker trap = thief proof (or at least highly thief resistant, and always hilarious :))

I'll be honest, I like randomly stealing from people at WBB just to see how far I can run before getting killed or escaping.

I don't care what it is I steal.
