T2A noob with some questions

Post by TheAbracadaver »

Hey Second Age!
I have been on a very long hiatus from Ultima and am very glad to be back in the game! The last shard I played on was pretty similar to this except for the fact it was AoS ... *Gasp* ... So as a noob to T2A I have a few questions:

1) I've noticed that you have to sell things in stacks of 5, or 5 at a time. Is there any way around this. I feel like I'm majorly wasting time selling resources to vendors.
2) You can't click a vendor/person to have an action menu... do you have to speak to the vendors to get the desired response or am I missing something. Also is there anyway to see quips properities, ie. "a magic bow" without clicking (mousing over)? It's fine if you do and I respect era accuracy :)
3) I've always played a mage, so I made one here. Done anyone have any suggestions for getting a full book. I have circles 1-3 from the vendors.
4) Does script give the extra 10% in T2A? I read LJ does not so I'm assuming script does not either.

If I find more I'll ask if i can't find in the Wiki/feel to lazy to read through it :P
Thanks Second Age ... See everyone around!

Hey, welcome to the shard.

1. The only real way around this is to use the Razor sell agent. It will automatically sell items you tell it to when you say vendor sell, so just spam vendor sell a couple times to quickly sell your stuff.

2. There are no contextual menus here, it's all done by speech commands. You can't see specific numeric stats for weapons or armor, if its magic you need to use an ID wand and just know the values of vanquishing, accurate, etc.

3. You can buy most spells from NPCs but for higher level stuff you'll have to loot them from monsters or treasure chests. You can buy full books from players for 3-5k, be careful of scam vendors though.

4. No

Sorry, not all of us find using the horrible vendor selling interface to be an enriching experience.

Dude, on OSI we were all cheating using ExtremeUO and UOAssist and EZ Macro anyways.

Pointing a noob towards how to use Razor is about the best thing you can do for em.

I would suggest not only using Razor, but using it to create a bard to finance your wizard-pk adventures.

You can find a guide on pretty much everything on this shard by typing into google.. "Raise + WhateverSkill + UOSA"

You guys don't get it, you will never be free of this game or be able to move on emotionally unless you forsake these cheating programs. You will just keep getting caught back, or in the worst case; have it affect your life severely.

I myself was lucky to avoid the latter because I had plenty of free time and no responsibilities when I played on here, but UO is more then just a game for a lot of us, its "unfinished business" and you guys who come back here 10 or so years later better be aware of that before you start. You will never be happy with how you play or what you give to the game unless you stop cheating and finish it from the start without taking shortcuts.

PS: You are not just cheating the game, or the shard or just everyone else, you are also cheating yourself.

How could you know you can sell only 5 items and got 1-3 circles from the vendors if you never were able to open their menus having to ask how here?

You seem to be the one with unresolved issues about this game.

I never asked how, just simply if there way another way besides spamming "vendor sell."
I'm only playing during Christmas break, I'm far to busy (Pharmacy school) to be playing any other time. I'm in no way "addicted" to UO, its just a fun way to pass the free time during the day while the parents are working.
Happy Holidays Everyone!

nosferax, I wish it were so; then I would still be playing :D

To be honest, im just trying to help those who really want to get over UO... which very few here do. They enjoy this endless slavery of their minds because it reminds them of childhood or something? (maybe?). Once you realise that the story CAN end; then it kinda doesn't bother you.

I mean, seriously; why play on a T2A shard (1999) unless you have issues? :D It rationally and logically does not make sense unless you are unable to emotionally move on from that time for some reason or another.

At the same time, I think very highly of this shard and that it provides a concrete way of people to re-live the past (for the first time in human history?), but whats the point of re-living the past if your not going to fix the mistakes you did the first time?
