Re: Selling Chainmail Tunic of Defense Name any price
This thread always cracks me up. Reminds me of the first time I had a "magic" item in '98 (I still remember it: it was a magic two-handed ax that some guy gave to me at the bank; almost CERTAINLY a durable two-handed ax, but I didn't know--and since I had played Ultima 7 and Ultima 8, I just KNEW that a "magic" weapon was as good as you could get ). I also still remember almost immediately walking to the brit x-roads to show it off and getting PKed with fireballs right just as I almost reached the GZ, and being pretty upset about it... Ahh, good times. Part of me wishes I could return to my completely UO-ignorant state so that I could relive the wonder of the game...
At the bazooka house drop loot extravaganza, I was going to offer 100k for anybody who found the chainmail of defense in there and turned it in (I would have the unique ID of course). Didn't happen, though, b/c we didn't have extra money for it .

Most people like us, or at least they like what we do. Regardless, we appreciate all our victims, and we hope that their encounter with us is a memorable one.

What's the current bid on this?
Re: Selling Chainmail Tunic of Defense Name any price
More than you can afford and not enough for anyone to care.
On another note... I have saved every chainmail tunic of defense I have encountered in game simply because they crack me up whenever I find them thanks to this thread. Classic nerdery at it's best.
Oh, and in case your wondering... I am NOT selling mine... they are priceless.

Re: Selling Chainmail Tunic of Defense Name any price
The 'chainmail tunic of defense' is the most common piece of armour out there - not sure if its chance rate was increased after this infamous thread but im pretty sure it is.
I would have thought it would be the same chance rate as any other piece of armour but of 9198 lowend magic items I collected (usless jewellery/clothing, hardening/force and below) 169 were chainmail pieces (tunics, coifs and leggings) which is 1.8%
Of those 169 items 62 were chainmail tunics (0.7%) which is about average for any piece of armour.
But of those 62 tunics, 28 of them were a 'chainmail tunic of defence' thats 0.3% which is high!
This mean that you should receive a 'chainmail tunic of defence' for every 333 shit magic items you collect, approx.
Interesting?.....
