Re: Server Wipe
I only own a tower and a small.. because I care.
Re: Server Wipe
Have you ever made a new character and wandered around the world on horse back and looked for a place to put a tower or even a non small house for that matter? I am not sure of the numbers but how many house/tower/castles placements are total in the whole facet of fel? So are you saying that SA has reached its max amount of players, seeing as there seems to be no further room for growth of new additional players? At first my argument that I thought it was a few with multiple houses. But now you have made the point across that its very fair and every 3.5 houses is legitimately owned by unique player.Kaivan wrote: Thus, there is no real "monopoly" of housing on UOSA, and no preventative measures need to be put in place.
Or is there a bunch of untapped land that you know of to place castles and towers and what not?
EDIT:
ADD= Cause if everything is just legitimate, then I think the next step would be to be opening another shard, keep everything the same just have SA1 and SA2, same ruleset and everything.

Re: Server Wipe
He has data. I would wager the answer is no on this one. Staff doesn't have time to scour the map to look at house space.

Re: Server Wipe
This issue comes up every so often when someone feels that there is a "housing" problem in UOSA. It happens every 3 months or so.
First of all, there are places for non-small houses out there, you just have to invest time finding them. Second, in the time you spend finding a spot, you could have farmed the 10k-35k over deed that it would cost to buy and already placed one on the forums. Third, Good Luck placing a house, even a small, in OSI circa 1999...hell, Good Luck trying to buy a small in OSI for 35k over deed in 1999!!
A wipe = shard's death. Why? Because what will prevent Derrick from wiping it again in 2 years time when you're the head honcho? Where's the consistency, and more importantly the continuity? I log in, because I know that in 2 years time I'll have my chars and the stuff I have worked hard to get IF I care for them properly. If you just got here, start out, become the next Telamon, and as soon as you've just gotten what you wanted, it is taken away from you with a wipe.
What people should be endorsing is a stricter control of afk resource gathering and EUO usage. THAT is what is really ruining the economy and "play" for many people.

To add, everytime one of these wonderful threads come up. I login and go place an L-Shape or larger within 60 minutes just so I can laugh at the how silly these threads are. I figure, to be fair, that I have to place a large house before I laugh, though. I have yet to fail at this.
You all have the same opportunity to get a large house that everyone else on this server has. I started on this server with nothing and went on to own several keeps and castles when there "wasn't room" for anything. You can do it, too. I then gave it all away. Perhaps someday i'll have time to play again and i'll prove, yet again, that there's plenty of room for anything you can imagine.
Is it easy? Hell no. It shouldn't be.
Get out there and work for what you want like everyone else who is successful at anything does and quit asking for everyone else to make it easy for you. You all play by the same rules. You all have the same opportunities. The only difference is what you do with those opportunities within those rules. If you're not as successful as the guy next to you, then perhaps you should quit blaming him and work on improving yourself.
That goes for this game and for real life.
Better yourself.

Re: Server Wipe
Every time that a housing related thread has shown up claiming that it's impossible to find larger housing spots, I've taken the liberty of running the map. Each time, within 10 minutes, I've been able to find a location to place a larger sized house. Sure, they aren't the most convenient locations in a lot of cases, but the reality is that a reduction in the number of houses that a player could hold wouldn't change this scenario much, and the houses that disappeared would be the least desirable houses, bringing about no real change in the end anyway.Griffeth wrote:Have you ever made a new character and wandered around the world on horse back and looked for a place to put a tower or even a non small house for that matter? Also, I would draw your attention to what has been said by others on this subject. Specifically the fact is that UOSA still has very available housing, which is far from what is expected during the era.
