back when I was new to the game I would hang out with 3 other players we always went to shame. I can vividly remember seeing a small house or 2 inside of shame (3rd level?) I don't think its era specific to the shard but I was wondering could I be wrong about this memory? or was it something they allowed and later removed?

Yes, supposedly in the lich room there. I don't think they lasted long at all before GMs removed them... and I think it was before the era being emulated here.

I remember a house down in the bux cave for awhile until it mysteriously disappeared one day.
