100 MIB Research
100 MIB Research
I've been meaning to make this post for a while now. Last summer I had collected a good amount of MIBs. Seeing how much they were being sold for, I was curious how much profit people make who actually buy them. I myself have never purchased one but have fished up many. Now of course for those of you old forum savvy vets this has been done before, in an awesome post by Daolin a couple years ago.

But I figured, why not do it again? If I'm going to fish all these up, why not record the data? More data is always better. So for reference purposes, here is the loot that 100 fished up MIBs got me. I may not have kept as extensive of data as Daolin did, but enjoy. Keep in mind that with this data I did not sell any items to other players. All items listed were either GLD, items kept, or items sold to vendors for GLD.

Re: 100 MIB Research
Awesome research, thanks applejack!
Re: 100 MIB Research
Anyone know how many man hours it took to do all this? Was it worth the time? You could sell those 100 MIBs for 200-300k with no effort. Is that extra gold and all those items equal to the amount of time it took to do this?
Re: 100 MIB Research
Sorry I missed the question earlier. It's hard to say how long it took because I did it over a long stretch of time, fishing up a dozen here and a dozen there over the course of a month or two. It wasn't my sole focus. However, I just kept stockpiling the chests untouched and once I was at 100 then I sorted and recorded the data.
There are definitely efficient ways to fish up bulk MIBs with UOAM as Telamon said. And doing it that way I would guess yes it's worth the time. I will admit doing only about a dozen or so at a time I was not operating as fast as I could. It was just a no-risk side thing to do every so often so I wasn't super worried about time.

Re: 100 MIB Research
Is the chest level random and how does one determine its level? Thanks in advance!

I'm not an expert, but as far as I know, there
is no way to know until you fish it up.
Completely random

Re: 100 MIB Research
Nice statistics, i also did more than my fair share of 100 MiB runs and my stats are almost identical to yours, so if it means anything to ya'll i can verify that this info is pretty accurate and i would say safe you assume your going to get this amount of gold/loot/resources every 100 MiBs you run.
