Pets in stables.

Post by Derrick »

It's come to my attention that there is a myth that stable maintenance is only performed once per day, when it is actually a more continuous process.

If you always re-stable your creatures on the same day of the week, you are very likely going to lose pets unless you do it at the same time of day or earlier on each successive weekday.

The decay time is 7 days, and the pets are checked hourly do determine if they have been in there more than seven days, or if their owners have been deleted. If they are no longer valid, they will be deleted at that time.

The new stable system is a nearly a complete rewrite. The 7 days has always been a minimum, but the "grace" period may be a little shorter now which may be leading to some of the reported pet disappearances.

Thanks for the post Derrick.

Maybe this will cure the case of the missing pets.

I really hope so I've gone over and over the system both visually and in testing and just cannot find a flaw. The reports of troubles since early last week have almost completely ceased, but only almost; there have been a couple unexplained reports, but in the absence of any other evidence I have had to draw the conclusion it was either seven day decay, or not checking the right stable master (which has been the confirmed trouble in way more cases than not)

So in T2A you can only claim pets from the exact stable master you stabled your pets at correct?

Still think a lot of the problems are from people not understanding the new system and not checking each stablemaster at the stable instead of assuming the claim will be pulled per stable instead of stablemaster.
