What era was it where small houses could be placed on top of towers?

I remember several of these back in the day when I was playing.

I remember several of these back in the day when I was playing.

I think these were only placeable pre-T2A, but they may have been grandfathered and you still saw them in T2A. I can't remember if these were grandfather-able or not; after a certain patch, they may have not been refreshable anymore and dropped after the appropriate amount of time.

Yea, you could do the courtyard thing in front of your castles and stuff too (placing smalls directly in front of your doors to make an artificial courtyard)
