NPC thief stealing...stolen items not on corpse???

Not sure if this is even a bug, but here goes.

So I was in Buc's Den today killing NPC's (bored) and noticed something interesting. I attacked an NPC thief, who stole from me while I was attacking them. Once I killed it, the item it stole (my bandages) were not on its corpse. Is this normal? I would think it would have the stuff it stole on its corpse.

Nope. I was just out of luck. Bandages gone from my pack, not on npc's corpse, or anywhere in sight.

one possible solution another player with same name stole them from you. and hid/stealthed out of the area.

While that is "technically" possible, I would say highly unlikely that would go unnoticed mostly because of the skill delay factor.

Do dexer npc's heal themselves? Maybe he used them. Just a thought, probably a really dumb one.

I would be pretty surprised if they healed themselves. Even if that were the case, he stole a stack of about 50 bandages. He would have had to use all 50 in about 5 seconds. Don't think that's what happened here.

Did not know in-era NPC thieves stole from players. Is this accurate? First I've heard of it.

This is the first I've ever experienced it. That includes my time playing back in the t2a era on OSI so I couldn't say if it's accurate or not for sure.
