I never played IPY, but I have played here. Since you are going to spend some time here, I think you should know a few thingsm

The staff here is good for the most part. Derrick Yoda and Braden are both reasonable and nice individuals. I would suggest not getting imvolved with the rest. With that said though, Derrick is the almighty so he shines more than the other administrators.

Judging by your post you seem interested in pvp. Good news is, the halberd mage does exist. Bad news is dexxers are better. (Assuming things haven't changed since I quit.). Also, the shards pvp strongly encourages running. It's easy to escape danger, and it's difficult to win given the fact it's so easy to evade any threat or threats. Finally, it's costly to pvp. It takes time to make gold and a lot of gold to prepare yourself (assuming you want to be somewhat competitve).

Maybe you should talk to someone about the IPY pvp, I hear they don't have horses and regs are 1 gold piece. So if you are more interested in pvp, it wouldn't be a bad idea to check it out also.

With all that said, enjoy your UO experience wherever you decide to go.
