New player here. I do not remember how spellbooks and other items work on 2nd Age. Are they blessed?
Which items do you keep when you die?

You pretty much loose everything except for your spellbook and newbied items. By newbied items I mean all the items that were in your pack or on your paperdoll when you created your character.

A max of 2 spellbooks will stay with you.
And you can lose newbie items if they aren't in the top layer of your pack.

Runebooks however are not newbied/blessed, and can be lost if you die

Also, newbied items will be lootable on your corpse if you die as a red no matter where they are in the pack. Any item that is blessed (using a bless deed) will never be lootable from your corpseSheer Luck wrote:And you can lose newbie items if they aren't in the top layer of your pack.
