Thief and Dex

Post by Kuroi »

hi all, im new :) i've got a question: thief chars need dexterity? i see a template here which has this stats: 100s 25d 100i
it's true? training my snooping i see dexterity going up so easy...

EDIT: i mean this
Thief: - 100s-25d-100i
Stealing - GM
Snooping - GM
Hiding - GM
Stealth - GM
Magery - GM
Meditation - GM
Resist - GM
ok that's a thief/mage template, but i don't need dex for stealing items?

you won't need dex to steal successfully.
My only concern is at this point, where are you going to be stealing?

Magery does 1 damage in town, so most thieves if they are in town, have no resist and little to no magery.

you may also want to review teh recent changes to thieves in the 'shard news'
it has stopped a lot of people from playing their thieves.

Here are a few solid thief templates

1. Mage, Med, Eval, Resist, Wrestling, Snoop, Stealing (Mage Thief)
2. Mage, Med, Resist, Stealth, Hide, Snoop, Stealing (Great for House Looting)
3. Anatomy, Healing, Macing, Tactics, Hiding, Stealing, Snooping (Warrior Thief)
4. Anatomy, Healing, Wrestling, Hiding, Stealth, Snooping, Stealing (Defense Thief, mostly for cleaning out backpacks)
5. Stealing, Snooping, Stealth, Hiding, Detect Hidden, Empty Slot, Empty Slot (Town Thief, reveal hidden people and clean them out!)

Stats can be anything really, 100/25/100, 100/100/25, really depends on how you plan on using the character.

i dont think ill use so many spells, ill go for a warrior or defence thief with 100s 100d 25i, ty!

one other question: why mace? fencing is not better for a fast thief?

b/c on mounts everyone runs for miles and heals then comes back.
at least with macing you might have a chance to take their stam down to 0.

Hasn't stopped this thief! Although town guards are considerably more lethal...

Thief mages are fantastic for stealing outside of town, especially if you steal a mage's mandrake so they can't gheal or recall. ect.

It just depends on his playstyle.
