U0 Impressions

Post by Rain66 »

Greetings...I'm new to this world of UO but not new to the game. Played, or tried to play, the game since 1997 when I first started on Atlantic...back in the day. And let me be clear, I really sucked. I was a moving target at best. I guess UO Second Age is a second chance. I wanted to share my take on the game and my thanks for those who stand behind a great game and vision to bring it back.

My UO second age experience for the past month has been great, love the game, and love the setup. Why?

-having three accounts rocks and being able to macro gets me into the game
-the game is smooth and what I remember way way back when
-UO sound track...just brings back memories *sniff sniff*
-website and forums very helpful
-people are playing, I see peeps everyday
-active guilds (need to find one of those)
-and I simply love pks and the people who turn up at the newbie dungeons to hunt pks (thanks)
-the game feels alive and moving

I am a huge fan of the sandbox game (hate the kill 5 pigs for a reward concept). Thanks for all the work and creating a great experience.

Rain

I checked out IRC, instant help, thanks. Please excuse the late reply, had to travel south for a wedding over the long weekend. Some helpful travel tips for U0 "fans". Hotels do not allow you to download the U0 client onto their computers. Bring your own laptop if it has the juice. And only use a laptop that you are sure IT Admin will not check. A mouse is better then a pad.

IRC was great. I spoke with Kip in IRC that I hunted with for a tad, kinda nice and receive timely help from an evil dude who is starting an evil RP guild with town and all. Great write up on the guild somewhere in here, very cool. Anyway, IRC was extremely helpful with my character development. Thanks!

Happy Hunting!

one added thought, (mostly) we have some damn nice PKers. I bet 3 out of 5 rez me after when they can, I like the jump in hart rate but remember a lot of trash talkers in the old days.

I hunt what I want, and alone mostly. So I pay the price. As my archer/macer gains he is getting harder to kill, so soon I may need to rez a PK or two :D
Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish on UOSA and he will stay up until his wife yells at him to get to bed.

Hey all,

I know this is off-topic, but can someone tell me how to create a guild in UOSA? I can't remember but I'm sure it's easy. Thanks in advance.

Buy a guild deed for around 12k from a provisioner's shop. Stand where you want the stone in a house the character owns, d-click the deed.
