Regarding murder counts....

Here's my question,

Let's say I've been macroing off murder counts, and have about 2 hours left on my final murder count. If I were to go out and kill someone, would the countdown start over at 8 hours again for the short term? Or will that 1 original count, still have two hours left to decay?

So basically, does the murdrer count decay timer reset everytime you murder someone?

The short term counter does not. It's always running, and never resets until you reach zero short term counts.
