My Poem About Pumpkin Boy - by Bernini

Post by Mens Rea »

Bernini wrote this for you Pumpkin Boy.

The Pumpkin Blues by Bernini

Life was great in the pumpkin patch.
The day was predictable the sun was plentiful.
I even grew up without a scratch.
My world was so bright and gay until that one dreadful day.
This day a girl came through and wanted to make some pumpkin stew.
She picked the best of my patch,
but left me curiously out of the batch.
Eventually realising I would not be chosen,
my heart swiftly became broken.
Why the girl did not choose me,
was not in my realm of reality.
Now left behind to wither and rot,
watching my friends get into her pot.
There must be a place for rejects like me,
a utopia I dreamed up where I can be free.
But I never understood why my heart does bleed,
but it sure doesn't help with a head full of seeds.
