hey, iam working on my crafter right now.
ill make 2 chars, one is my main crafter : tailoring, Blacksmithing etc
and the second one is for skills like Lumberjacking, Item Id, Arms Lore, Mining etc
There is no way to get every needed skill on one char hehe

Arsen hints at the answer, being that arms lore isn't necessary on a blacksmith. There's no added benefit to having it on a smith, but it is a nice skill to have on one character if you plan on repairing items.
Save yourself the shame and embarrassment and just assume that if you can't understand me...you're the one who's retarded.

Next quesiton, is Carpentry really worth it? I was just intending on Alchemy/Inscription/Blacksmith/Poisoning as my crafting skills between two characters.

If i do go with carpentry the characters would look like this:

1) Blacksmithing/Carpentry/Magery/Meditation/Mining/Tailoring/Tinkering
2) Alchemy/Inscription/Magery/Meditation/Lumberjacking/Item Id(wondering if i should make this arms lore instead)/Poisoning.

Its level of worth is determined by the one evaluating. If you think house add-ons are fun you should make one just to mess around with different designs. If you couldn't care less about house decoration a carpenter is not very useful.

I enjoy house decoration, but i also intend on making/having a vendor to sell wares as well. Looking for profit as well as enjoyment.

I doubt you will make much profit from carpentry as most people only buy serious add-ons once in a blue moon but if you advertise and have a good location and reputation you can make a decent amount of gold from carpentry in terms of material and time spent, just not as regularly as potions or from a blacksmith.

I think Carpentry, Bowcraft, Tailoring and Tinkering are just benefits that might make someone want to come to your shop regularly to buy the things that people actually buy to any degree of frequency (Kegs and Regs). Even blacksmith wares aren't really worth it profit wise because everyone at some point makes a smith and sells their crap for near at-cost just because they want to say they owned a shop or something.

I agree that certain skills probably won't sell as well as others, im just trying to diverisify enough on what i do try and sell. Are Kegs/Regs/Scrolls/Runebooks/Full Spell books/GM DP'd Weapons/Band-Aids the most common things people are buying? I have been trying to look around at different shops and ran into that L shaped outside of yew (don't remember the owner), but they have a few things but if you head north a bit you can find a few other vendors selling "kits" like he does.

Things like 10 DP'd Halberds, or 25 of each reg, or x amount of x potion. Is that pretty much the staple here? Feed the PKers? :P

Little confused here. ( not uncommon for me :? )

Remember way back when... arms lore was important for smith. As animal lore is for tamers, etc.

As for carpentry, I wouldn't make it just for money maker. But since addons poof when remove

them, I consider it useful for own use. After get established and make own addons and don't need to rush

out and try to find ones you want, every time you decide to re-docorate.

hope this was helpful

I like it personally because my blacksmith is my only real craftsman at the moment.

I use Arms Lore on all the armor and weapons I handle for my warrior and others in need of my services.
I'd rather not waste a repair on a barely used item :)
Item ID is only somewhat useful to me as 3/4 of the time I'm using ID wands to make up for the time delay, but I like to have it GM anyway.
