Trouble gaining resist

I had no problem getting resist to 55.0 using fire field. Since then, I have switched to lightning, and have only gained .4 in over 200 casts. Is this normal? My eval int is 100 and magery at 75. I am doing this outside of town. Anything I am doing wrong? Thanks in advance.

You are not doing anything wrong, that sounds about how it is.

There is a lil dead spot when ya first start Lightning.. keep going, it'll clear up in .5-1.5 and you'll find better gains..

have to keep in mind when your magery skill is low for Lightning - ebolt - flame strike you fizzle more so a lot of your cast you just fizzled and that's when you gain magery skill more quickly resist picks up towards the end of each spell and you want to make sure you resist is around the same as your magery before you switch to the next spell

50-62.9: Cast Lightning targeting your self.
From Skill Level 63.0-82.9: Cast Energy Bolt Targeting Your Self.
From Skill Level 82.9-100: Cast Flame Strike Targeting Your Self.
i use these values approximately for resist as well

I got up to 84 resist with about 3000 ebolts. Meant to stop at 82 but i had an extra 600 regs or so and wasnt' home to switch to FS.

FS is much slower. Lightning should only need about 1000 castings if I remember right, it'll go pretty quick.
