Bump to remind people to keep filling it up..

Kurg.. I wrote something to the extent of the thread being at the top that it reminded people to fill them up daily pages back in.. Or maybe it was in one of the 10 threads about this.

I guess this is an exercise in irony as I bump the thread to the top while telling people to quit bumping it...

Unfortunately this is part of the game, whoever pays for the stable slots gets them...

However, I'd be interested to know how much the # of stable slots here is compared to OSI

Where is the animal trainer at the Moonglow inn? There was one there on Great Lakes back in 99.
Also, why couldn't a person put chickens in all the stable spots and then sell the spots to other players. That would be a good way to make money. I'll buy a spot if one is for sale.

Because on this server you are looked down on for creating methods of money making that basically forces the player base to need you.

The economy here is different than a main server so far as to say that if the player base hates you, you won't sell anything. On the old servers, there were so many people that any bad guy would just fall in the cracks if he did wrong. They always see you here.

I know that people couldn't tame as many dragons/mares/whatever back in the day, but would this kind of chicken/rat/cat/dog griefing have been possible in the original era? Were newbies without guilds expected to pay 5K+ for a stable slot? Furthermore, back when this game was new and people paid a subscription, would admins have stood for this kind of griefing?

When I was a newbie i had to roam around the world and keep at least 30 to 50 taming on my first character to tame a horse. I never used a stable as a newbie.

I take it you are not a tamer then Dolos.

What if you couldnt find anywhere to buy a hally. No smiths, no vendor houses nothing.

I have a character with GM taming, although I would hardly consider myself a "tamer." I was merely commenting on how ridiculous of a comment the previous poster made when he stated he was quitting UO because he logged on after being gone months to tame 1 dragon and couldn't stable it. Sounds like a riveting play-style.

This isn't a comparable situation. It would be more like not having a place to put my hally after I was done using it. The short period of time that it takes to tame a dragon or WW on this server is a joke. You can log on and grab a new dragon every day and barely affect the time you're taking out of your day to play. Not to mention, you can always save yourself a stable spot ahead of time (as I'm sure many of the tamers on this server already do).

In addition, there are more ways to make money in UO then logging on your tamer with his 20 dragons. Taming is arguably the quickest and easiest way to make money on the server, try something different.

SOme people train their dragons to do cool tricks...

Mine can stand on it's head and firebreath its butt. I don't wanna lose that dragon to lack of stable availability.
