Petition to move up the cut off date.(Era Accurate Petition)

Looking over the list, the only thing that would get this thrown out asap is the fact that the very patch after nov 23 is the one that removes precasting.

Ive heard derrick talk about choosing that day because precasting was so important.

Some of the other changes are fascinating though.

There are 4 full patches after nov 23, and before trammel opened.

Edit : Im still going to side with Matron and say that the cutoff date needs to be brought back, (like way back) rather then forward, but the patch we are currently at is awful.

I would go back too. I just prefer to go forward when there are fixes to things that people complain about daily.

Take that sucker to May 3, 2000.

That or change the server name to earlysecondage.com

UOR was actually added on approximately April 19th, 2000 (according to the UO FYI section which is currently down).

Taking the servers to right before UO:R would re-add running with weapons, make our current rune books actually era accurate, add small stone towers, Make the dyed kegs era accurate, all kill / taming / pet speed upgrade, poisoning would be fixed to be harder to cure.

I asked tekai to add to the post because he's one of those " all information " finding type people....

To address these examples that you feel will be solved with such a move:

• Running with weapons was not added until UOR.
• Runebooks are accurate per our current cutoff date.
• Small stone towers were added with UOR.
• Dyed kegs are era accurate and exist here.
• All kill did not work until 2002.
• Poisoning fixes for cure potions were not introduced until UOR.

As for the actual petition itself, the cutoff date can't and won't be moved due to a petition, nor any other opinion of the majority.

At any rate, my big problem with this whole thread is the lack of info. The original poster through a poll, claimed things would be better, and didn't give any details. Way to go President Obama.

It would be better if it was broken down into a specific "this is what will get added", then a vote. I want to know the pros and cons, not just a few select pros. And I don't really feel like researching it.

I actually attempted to delete a good chunk of the info I had put that kaivan responded to. He just caught it before i could get it.

Kaivan is just angry because I didn't invite him to my pizza party as a kid. Chuck E cheeses was a blast btw.

Btw: I have seen it said before , over and over, that this type of thing doesn't work.

Isn't it interesting that swing on the run was supposedly "added" in UO:R even though you had to be stationary for the swing animation to actually hit your target?

Actually you didn't. During UOR you could move and swing without any issue, and your swing would be 'held' if you were out of range, provided that you hadn't started a swing already.

Not exactly. You could move between the start and finish of the swing and it wouldn't interfere with the swing at all. The only difference is that you could 'miss' your swings as you could during pre-T2A.

I agree with Matron. Move it back to before the noto patch, the Dread Lord era...Not a suggestion, I like this server as it is, but if there was a move in the timeframe...

I didn't mean more it back that far, though I am not against that idea. I just mean move it back towards where the real "meat" of t2a is. Right now, as far as I am concerned, this is a PRE-UO server, not T2A.
