If not, I'll make another one. I want to be sure that I am on topic.

Yeah

What about just going the middle road and make the grandfathered BS breakable but repairable. That way there is still AR drops to the items in combat (eventually could break) but on the other hand they could still be repaired.

you want gf items to break because it isnt era accurate but ask for a inaccurate way to repair them.
i dont get the point.

Because if you are gonna go the Era inaccurate way and keep inaccurate things in the game you might as well throw in a little compromise for the sake of keeping combat more accurate (such as AR dropping due to item getting worn out)

What will be done, will be done.
Let's just wait and see what the staff decides.
This is a "big deal" because players (both pro-GF items and anti-GF items) make it so..
Doesn't effect gameplay to the extent that it is talked about on the forums.

But events do! No matter where you are in Brittania you hear about trammel events. No matter what city you bank in, a red gate leading to trammel appears when an event happens. It's totally unnecessary to be in dungeon shame killing wind elementals and then suddenly receive a message about which team won the CTF game.

One post (now two) on the subject which I have never given a second thought in the 3 years I have played here (yet these days I cannot escape the topic due to the forum attention it gets) hardly "proves me wrong"..

Also Psilio, I haven't been in a tournament since 2008, and I don't care much for them either. However if keeping them maintains a certain player base on the shard I wouldn't want to be rid of them though- even if the player base isn't active outside of the events: You have to realize Ultima Online Freeshards are a dying breed- as are their players.

If the goal of UOSA was to keep players playing then we'd get rid of dumb inaccuracies like "stopping to cycle hit" ect. You realize how many dexers don't play UOSA for that simple mechanic alone?

I only wish Derrick would fix/change the small mechanics that bring people back, but it's his call. Events(trammel, instances) are the LAST thing that should be used to "keep the population of a dying breed" IMO. Trammel makes me have nightmares IRL.

It effects game play to the extent that they try to sell these GF items for hundreds of thousands, thus f******ng the economy.
