So gains will be roughly the same if I use a paladin or a blade spirit? I would just have to heal the paladin like crazy then?

I GMed Arch using the blade spirits method, and it took 8k or so arrows.

It's my preferred method because it's easy, and caters to my lazy nature.

Hythloth Tower for Sale. Contact Boondock_Saint via PMs because it's his and not mine. Azheman will broker the deal, naked.

This is very very false.
I don't know...I GMed fencing the other day on a ratman and I was getting gains after 97 off mongbat one-hit-kills.

For me, blade spirits USED to take 5k - 6k arrows. At some point last year I believe a patch changed the rate at which arrows fell after missed shots. Now it seems to take 7k - 8k. Disadvantage to this method of course is regs used to cast BS. I always use a second character macroing casting it to a safe spot while my archer who was physically closer auto defends. Hopefully others can speak on the other methods.
tried both ways order guard / and bs , the blade sprit is the way to go. I also managed to get my 1 archer with magery to cast the blade and shoot it nearly flawless with a macro i even used it for magery gains :)

I've taken combat skills from 30-GM off creatures like giant rats and skeletons. I'm happy to be wrong but from my experience it doesn't matter what you are hitting?

If you could elaborate on why I'm incorrect I can stop posting bad info. Thanks :)

I just started with the blade spirits, and I am noticing its seems kinda slow. After casting 4 or 5 spirits, i have only gained 0.9. Does that sound really slow?

I think Blades have a high melee skill so you will be failing a lot when you have low archery, but the gains will pick up as you improve.

Just use a fighter from 30-75ish or 80 and then switch to paladins. Save on regs casting otherwise useless blades and train healing on another toon. Or use bears and train vet on a tamer. Blades for archery seems about the least economical way to go about it imo.

If you find yourself killing the npc too fast, just drop your dex. You'll gain slower, but if economy is the goal who cares?
Save yourself the shame and embarrassment and just assume that if you can't understand me...you're the one who's retarded.

Mens and his pumpkins......

Gee. I wonder what he will be for halloween?

Back on topic. Just kill stuff with bows/arrows and loot corspes. Of all the skills the weapon ones seem to GM on all of my guys alot faster than say...resist or magery or other slow gaining skills. So unless you are millionaire you could prolly use the loot and it would be fun.

I GMed wrestling on one of my chars beating up rats and frogs in Brit sewers 4 example and ended up getting thousands of leather for my tailor, tons of rat steaks for my cook, and quite a bit of gold.

Also, I never seen another soul down there. Not even a blue guy...

That's jus me tho....

I don't really need the loot, but I still grab it. :)
I've trained Archery up to about 58 now, just using it. Get arrows, get bows, and use them.
It's so easy to come across Supremely accurate stuff that it will help you 'get by' in the interim.

Also, I'm already GM Swords/Tactics/Anatomy/Parry so I can just drop the bow for my sword and shield if things get hairy.

Gaining in the field > macro training.

Yeah. Usually I macro 2 clients doin all the BS non fun gaining skills and play with the 3rd to gain the "fun skills to gain" in the field.

Mining and lumberjacking sux tho. The reward is great however. (not selling my resources cuz I use em)

I just hit 95 archery off of blade spirits, but my gains really slowed down. It took me near 1k arrows to get 0.6 archery gains off of a blade spirit. Any ideas that might prevent me from gaining?
