That's the whole trouble. You can't ever find a place that's nice and peaceful, because there isn't any. You may think there is, but once you get there, when you're not looking, somebody'll sneak up and write "Fuck you" right under your nose. I think, even, if I ever die, and they stick me in a cemetery, and I have a tombstone and all, it'll say "Holden Caulfield" on it, and then what year I was born and what year I died, and then right under that it'll say "Fuck you." I'm positive.

I'm going to start putting this together. I am going to offer 100k (which is a ton for me, I own 1 small house for all of my accounts to use, works out fine btw)

these are all ideas please give feedback on how you think I should do it.
Event will be in Brit at the castle I'm thinking. We'll have to take measures for griefers and thieves (bring your own locked boxes or something.) Votes will made by Lord Characters only (I realize that this will be disproportionate tamers and bards but they represent the accounts of the players with other characters who pvp too much to be lord). hand count ballet at the event, nominations on this forum (requires yourself and another person to second) If it gets big enough we could petition the GMs for some input on it.

If someone wants to incorporate pvp into this I'm all ears (like sheriff or Britain for bragging rights)
If you think this whole thing is for SuXXOrs fAgS NOOBs then feel free to not participate

anyone wanna co-chair this player run event with me? or donate some items for the title.

I recuse myself from the voting or nominating if I'm going to help organize it.

I have a well trained horse I'd like to nominate: Molly. She'd also be the first female mayor of Britain if I'm not mistaken.

I like the general spirit of this idea. We could use events that are heavily player driven and incorporate elements other than PvM and PvP.

That's it, you're out of the guild!

Talk about mood swings.
Isn't this the same Tigre who said "if it's not a game but "a world" then having a community constantly grief-ing, isolating and dogging each other with over use of PKS on new players means the world sucks."

Keep up the good work Tigre. You'll find your groove eventually. :P

For the record, I agree that we should not emulate IPY2 (becuase all towns are 'player-run' there) unless we do the no-recall in dungeons thing. I'm down for that. :P

What if the top 2 vote getters choose champions winner pvp gets the player bestowed title of whatever we end up calling it. Mayor is my vote.

Isnt this why we have player towns (which sit unused most of the time)? Players can be mayor of their player towns. This kind of stuff can be done without a staff assist. Might even get use out of useless ballot boxes lol.

I suggest the Mayor of Britain be seleced through poison drinking contest or trapped chest roulette.

I'll have to look Grool up. He was mayor of Trinsic back on great lakes for a brief while much to the dismay of everyone else.

I agree, no GM support is needed and definitely no GM handouts. Half of the fun is the unpredictability of events. If you want it to be super secure and safe you might as well not even play and just have people chat on the forums.
